I'll say. Poor old XTC got pretty smashed up. Only myself, Rei and Vegeta made it into the final ten. The rest got munted.
I'm only going to be in a group of three, maybe four, but no more than that. Just for the sake of having someone else to roleplay with.

For real.
Big groups will be fodder for a guy with say, a nice long range weapon. Pick off bitches from a square away all day long.

If everyone went by what happened last year, most people should just turtle. THAT would make for a great DA.

Groups have an obvious advantage, but this time around Supes want to prove he doesn't need any help to win. His motto is "It's not about killing...it's about not dying ... what turtle-tactic faggotry is that?" At most, he'll not kill friends.
That said, I honestly can't forsee people not grouping. I mean, even in DA:C when people were split into designated armies we still had them forming up. I don't blame them at all, since it obviously increases your chances of survival, but it sucks. Whit kin ye dae though? =P

Again, I don't see why it sucks.
How did groups make DA '06 so terrible for people? I personally loved the huge CU vs. RagBlack fight. How many times do you get to see the characters of this RPG in an all out war? It was awesome. Seeing all those names pop up in a Face to Face and waiting for it to be written was, I'm almost sad to say, one of the most exciting times of my life.

It was awesome in the sense that they were cool fights, but bad in the sense of fairness. Just my opinion. It starts off with weak people banding together so they stand a chance against the strong people, then the strong people do the same and it defeats the point. I couldn't wait for DA:C because I thought it would fix that problem, then the armies merged. =P
Regardless, Burter has a way of making things work, so we'll see.

I was all for powerups not playing a part this year, because I think the playing field would be leveled and fights would be based on writing an weapons. Thus, a greater emphasis on individuals instead of groups. But...we see how that went.

There will be a power house group... expect it. But only one of them, if they are lucky will make it to the top 5.
I'm willing to bet that one or two... badass power house members, meets up with them... takes a few out and only gets injuries. The larger the groups, the more harder it is to Roleplay with everyone respectively and iun the end makes communication an issue and hinders you to an extent.
I'm monkey swinging around this year, trying to find my right thing. I plan on trying to hook up with a few people. Not to do anything bad like last year, but to see if I can find a partner that can help me and I as well help them so that we both may survive.

Yamu, you are very heavily overestimating how much of an impact power-ups will have

That's what I was going to say. This whole "weak vs strong" idea is silly. "Strength" in DA does not come from ki or powerups. As someone who has an abundance of both, I can honestly say that Burter don't give a damn.
With powerups, good writers are good writers. Without powerups, good writers are good writers. Its still about the individual and their own skills. Powerups are infinitely more of a hazard, in my opinion, than they are a benefit.

I'd say that's exaggerating a bit. I mean, you can always opt not to use them, but having one is never a disadvantage. At worst, if you make it to the finale you can use it there. =P

Power-Ups help you, but not as much as some people seem to think.

Unless it gets to a situation where Burter uses one for our character. Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer to match someone else's transformation and it makes sense IC, but that makes it that much more dangerous.
It probably is something of an exaggeration, but it was done to illustrate the point. Having SSJ in this event isn't all rainbows and lollipops.

Agreed on that. I'm personally glad that Burter's having it so power doesn't matter as much this year. I just hope my dumbass strategy doesn't get me wiped out on Day 1. XD

Its tempting to just SSJ2 against the first person I see. I think it would be pretty funny.
Plus it would give me a nice excuse if I catch an early elimination.

I only saw Gray Buu as a replacement for you. Since your in, I didn't see a point in him making it in. That was my reason with your's.
If I didn't include your NPCs, guys, it's probably due to a lack of detail so I couldn't write them well.
EDIT:
I'm still iffy on Simba so I may replace him with someone
