DA Twists

Raditzu Wrote:Those 10 would then be required to RP with their partner (without betraying or backstabbing) until one or both of them are killed.

Burter Wrote:Chain Links: 10 or 12 random people are put into pairs, decided by random.org, and must play the entire game with their partner until one of them dies. They are treated as an alliance, so betrayal is allowed but the chain link can NEVER be broken.

SOrry. Just for the sake of it.

The only thing wrong is you CAN betray your partner, but it's the same risk as any other fight, maybe even more so because you're attached to them by a chain

Quote:Hopefully, in the event of chains, he won't tell everyone who the chains are. That would definitely make it more interesting.

I probably would list them off, because everyone would find out eventually. You know how the DA Gossip Train runs.

The issue with the chain links is they can potentially fuck someone's game up based on pure luck. With the easter eggs, at least you can decide for yourself if its worth the risk

Chain Links would be fun but only if we allow people we know would be active.

Because every year there are people who join but don't really participate and I don't want to join and get stuck with someone like that and have to wait a year to hope I get a better partner next time.

Having a partner won't really hinder you at all in terms of being judged in fights. But the same risks as any apply: if the partner is stupid, or too aggressive, or too good, it could be bad news for you

These are the reasons I voted for Easter Eggs. That and it gets others who don't have good weapons a chance at something better.

With the easter eggs though, someone with a fantastic weapon could expect people with bad weapons to turn up at the easter egg, and thus head there in the hopes of dispatching easy targets.

With traditional, there isn't anything new or inventive, but we're left with the same things as the last two years: Groups eventually forming up, probably the same ole pairs as usual, and probably the same people get shafted or outshined because of a bad weapon or just bad luck.

The twists have their pros and cons.

Hence why I'm against chain links. It has so much flaws. I'm also aginst the fact that you choose people at random. Rather, I think it would be better just to tally up all the people that are up for a chain link and then do a random pair up with them.

No, if I did chain links, it would involve everybody.

There are pros to chain links too though, like pairing up people who normally wouldn't even consider joining forces. It would stop (even if temporarily) the forming of the obvious pairs, trios and foursomes that we've been seeing the last two years

Links.

And what would be the point of betraying a partner? Wouldn't you be putting yourself at a major disadvantage in the event you run across a team of two?

And why do we have to decide? WHY NOT BOTH?

I think using both twists would be overkill.

It'll depend on how the ghetto DAs work out. They'll be my test runs.
