New Feature to CDBZ

Look at the very top of the boards for the newest In-Character feature to CDBZ.

Its called CNN - Chubbs News Network, and we have a lot planned for it. Hopefully it will stay as a regular method of keeping you updated on the world from a different viewpoint and to subtly introduce you to other minor changes in the world. This will allow situations such as the previous "Frozen Earth" scenario, whereas even if you were not joining in on the Frost saga you still were affected by the freeze.

While not a current Staff endorsement as far as the next bit, I would STRONGLY advise that you always read each post on that board when they come out. If something affects you that was posted there I will not accept "I didn't know" as a very good reason.

An example would be if I posted that Satan has escaped Hell and is threatening to impregnate the very next living creature that lands on Namek. Suddenly Olo decides to go to Namek to meet up with a friend of his for a Quest there, and lo and behold, Olo lands only to find Satan standing there with his friend nowhere around in nothing more than a thong and sweet love music playing. Olo then argues that it shouldn't affect him and he didn't know this would happen, to which I shall reply, "Olo, tough shit. olo"

I guess the estimated time of KR's terraforming completion (next week to two years) is a subtle jab at when VJ will return. Kekeke.

EDIT by Reijin: No, its not. Its advertising ;-) That and that we can't set a date yet. Sorta like the PS3; you know its coming, about when, but not a set date.

So does that mean you won't be needing VJ's site access in order to throw up KR when it's done?


Oh we can put it up there when its done and announce it fine. We can use the site News Scipt as well, although noone really looks at the main site due to lack of other updates. The complication is modifying the old Planet descriptions and adding the other new stuff to the main site, such as changes in Space Travel, etc.

Sweet, I got the impression that we'd have to wait for VJ. The fact that KR could be up any time is exciting.

I'll consider that. Currently my opinion is that it is at the top where everyone will see it first when they get here, but with the fifty thousand boards up there, I can completely be accepting of it being moved down to where the DA board is instead.

Maybe with staff permission. The part of DBZ where Cell busts into the news network to broadcast his transmission about the Cell Games pops into mind...maybe with staff permission, something like that will happen eventually? 'Twould make for some interesting scenarios.

No, the only things that should be posted are things that effect a planet as a whole.

Members can post with permission. I'll go out on a limb and say super mods and admins can give permission, but Reijin may want it to be just him and Rad.

Um, someone go test post, b/c I set it up to not allow it. I'll delete the test. I may have overlooked something as usual.

So far the primary people doing it will be myself and HF, unless other staff members wish to help. Really there is nothing to stop other staff from posting.
