LoTR D&D forsooth!
#1
I'm thinking about running a campaign based in the world of Tolkien. It'll happen prior to The Hobbit. Races allows will be: Dwarf, Elf, Human, Halfling, Half-Orc, Half-Elf, Orc, Goblin, Aasimar. Classes allowed will be based on the race.

Dwarf, Human, Half-Orc, Orc, Goblin, Halfling: Any class without magic, or the Paladin/Ranger variants from the Complete Warrior.

Elf, Half-Elf: As above, but include Druid, Cleric, casting Ranger/Paladin.

Aasimar: Sorcerer only.

Any other races or classes will need to be run by me, but I can probably find a place for them somewhere. Level 5 is the start. If you're an Aasimar, you'll be level 4 instead, due to the level adjustment.

Let me know if you're interested and/or have any ideas, improvements, suggestions, or questions.

Edit: Also, you guys will need to decide whether to play an evil or good campaign.

Sounds like fun. I work from 3-11 Mon-Fri, though, so that might infringe on things. If it does, I guess I'll just have to sit it out.

Once I get enough people interested, we'll hammer out a time schedule, Bra.

In normal D&D it's a human with holy blood. In this campaign, it's what Gandalf and Saruman are.

As I said over AIM, sure.

Do need to remember everything I used to know about LoTR though. I should get on that.

You don't need to remember anything, really. I'll provide a backstory to whatever you guys do and whereever you go. But I do need definites on whether or not you wanna play an evil or good campaign. The differences can be slight, with the exception of the possibility of evil characters being around Mordor.

The deciding factor on what you choose should be your scruples. A good party will shirk at the idea of killing a child for money and will instead fight the ogre that's killing people, even if there's less of a reward. And evil party would take the highest paying job available. Or even a job that pays less but does more evil.

I almost forgot. Bards are an allowable class for Elves, Halflings, Goblins and Half Elves. But if you choose to be one, I'll be tweaking your spell list for you.

And Evil.

I'm thinking of either being physically or mentally handicapped, a drunkard, or all three.

Oh, man. A quadraplegic mongoloid with a drinking problem.

...That's horrible.

That's too evil! I'll make an Orc with no arms.

So are we doing evil? Its kinda integral to my character seeing as I base everything on my guys personality.

I don't care, honestly. I don't want to do anything that holds anyone else back. I can play good/evil/whatever.

I can't say this is a definite, but I probably could once I get my computer back. Also, if I play, I refuse to play anything but a good campaign. I'm not really comfortable playing evil. =/

Why not make an Orc with no ankles to keep Hobbits from biting them? =P

...

Sorry, that was bad.
