My Brute!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A very simple flash game. Enter a name for your character, and it will generate a random character model. You can change color/model if you want, and then validate the character for use. Combat is completely automated so it's novelty is inherently limited, but I'm enjoying it right now.

Health is your Brute's ability to take damage, Strength is the ability to deal damage, Agility is accuracy/evasion, and Speed is the amount of actions you can take in a row (i think). There's a bit of randomization to keep it from being just a straight numbers game. Different latent abilities exist, such as the chance to draw a weapon in battle, whether or not the Brute drops their weapon, the chance to throw the weapon, dodge incoming attacks, or even counter-attack during an opponent's turn.

Fight other players' Brutes in the Arena for experience to level up, collect more powerful weapons, learn special skills, and even gain animal companions.

MY BRUTE!

You have to manually add a password to your Brute if you don't want others to use it, and you can replay up to seven most-recent battles. Both of these options can be accessed from your Brute's personal page.

COUNTER-ATTACK. First time that my Brute ever used the counter-attack technique.

My Brute fights a Brute/Dog duo. First time I ran into an animal companion.

Luck does play a significant factor. If he hadn't dropped that axe, or drew out his other weapon, I would have been raped.

Josh's high-speed Brute is NO MATCH. Baohahaha 8DX

Made another Brute, checking what kind of different aspects a Brute randomly gets. K.Sasaki got a "panther" companion upon reaching level2.

After a while of playtesting multiple characters (and finally finding a mybrute wiki), I've gathered some good information. "ATK PWR bonus" is additional power the Brute gains for wielding the weapon, "ATK SPD bonus" is how much more likely the Brute is to attack more often per turn or chance to have multiple consecutive turns, "COUNTER bonus" is chance to counter-attack.

STATS Wrote:HP is durability.
Strength relates not only to damage, but increases the Brute's chance to disarm their opponent.
Agility is for both evasion and blocking.
Speed enables the Brute to attack more than once in a row.

BLADES, generic weapons Wrote:Knife - physically weak, but speedy, blade.

COUNTER bonus: poor.

Sai - specially designed to disarm the opponent.
ATK PWR bonus: poor.

Melee Attack - the staple technique, every character knows this and uses it often. Whether with a weapon or bare handed, the Melee Attack is the workhorse of the Brute's arsenal. Damage is based on a combination of STRENGTH and the weapon's attack power.

Multi Attack - this is simply the Melee Attack performed several times in a row. Light weapons, such as the Knife or Sai, comparatively high SPEED, and Tornado of Blows specialty improve the chance of performing Multi Attack.

Disarm Attack - a passive technique. When performing any kind of attack, and the defending Brute is holding a weapon, there is a chance that the weapon will be knocked out of the defending Brute's hands. The Impact specialty and Sai blade increase the chance of disarming the opponent.

Switch Weapon - a non-violent technique, this happens when the Brute discards a currently held weapon and pulls out another. Does not count as a "full move", and is always followed by another technique.

Throwing Attack - somewhat uncommon. Thrown weapons tend to deal high-end or maximum damage (relative to the weapon's limit), and cannot be interrupted with a Counter-Attack. This technique can be used only once per weapon in a single battle, excluding only the Shuriken which can be thrown an infinite number of times.

Block - a defensive technique. When attacked, the defending Brute may use what's in his hands to parry the attack thus preventing damage. The Shield specialty, comparatively high AGILITY, and staff weapons increase the chance of Blocking attacks.

Evasion - a defensive technique that avoids damage. Instead of depending on hand-held items like Blocking the Brute simply jumps out of the way of an incoming attack. The Untouchable specialty and comparatively high AGILITY increase the chance of Evasion.

Counter-Attack - an advanced technique that is used only when the enemy is attacking. The defending Brute will interrupt the attacking Brute with an attack of his own. 6th Sense specialty, comparatively high AGILITY, and staff weapons increase the chance of performing a Counter-Attack.


Battles are chaotic when most or all of these techniques are involved. When one Brute is performing a Multi Attack, any one of the strikes may end up being interrupted by a Counter-Attack, the Counter-Attack may be Blocked or Evaded, and anyone can lose any weapon at any time which will suddenly change the tide. There's no substantial A.I. involved, so a Brute may perform idiotic moves like discarding a good situational weapon for a poor one, or throwing a weapon they should have held on to.

Don't try to collect pupils to more than one Brute. One Brute should be the "master" who collects pupils, so bonus xp goes only to that one. If you have more than one master then the bonus xp will be diluted.

I'd recommend making as many characters as you want, exhaust all of their fight opportunities, and then choose the one with the best weapons and specialties to be your "master" Brute. Then, start advertising that one on random internet forums and collect pupils.

Also, if you want a tough fight, then go to the area's search function and type in "k-sasaki". He's got low stats, but he's got the super-rare Panther animal (i've only seen one other brute with the panther while surfing replays, but i haven't actually run into another panther yet). That alone has allowed him to be totally undefeated, even though he's been picked on by other players because of those low stats.

New battles for the day began at around 6:30 EST. One of my characters, K. Sasaki, got bum rushed like it was going out of style. He has very low HP, poor stats, and no specialties. So, he's a natural target for XP miners. There must have been more than a dozen challengers that attacked him immediately after the new battles began.

He didn't lose a single match.

Do the pupils fighting other people have any effect on you? I have a couple pupils which are actually just me (original I know) and had them win a few fights but didn't notice anything different on my main Brute.

Yes and no. When a Brute gains a new pupil, and when the pupil levels up, the "master" of the pupil gains 1xp. This is actually how most xp is gained, since you can only fight 3 times a day and for a maximum of 6xp while pupil-gained xp is almost unlimited.

However, there appears to be an IP check on the website or something. If you own both the master and the pupil then no bonus xp is gained. You can only gain xp from pupils that aren't yours.

Yeah I watched that, haha. That was so lame, I just stood there like I was stoned.

I just had a fight with Josh, had him nearly beaten, then just threw my good weap away for my stick, then immediately just threw it and basically tried to punch him to death, with him getting the last hit.
