Writing Excersize
#1
Writing is like Kung Fu, in that there are individual styles behind the work. What's it for you?

:gconfused:

Writing for me is thinking of my brain as a computer I program. Everything I do programs towards a better executive.

It's worded awkwardly. Post your style, if you're interested. It's a learning experience for everyone.

After the first month of writing Vad I formed a section of my creative side into Vad's mentality. It's basically a filter I run scenarios through. I have created Vad's life, personality and thought process into a little bubble.

I put myself in his shoes within my mind and place his reaction. This is exceptional for when people ask me if they're roleplaying Vad right. And it makes it extremely interesting when I write, because half the time what I had planned (if anything) doesn't happen.

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

I don't know if I would want to meet you while writing if you're morphing into Vad's mentality, actually. Smile

Me? I like words, especially modifiers. Think they bring so much to a roleplay. I've also adapted an extreme pet peeve on people who never call their characters anything other than "he/she" or the character's name, and make it a point not to do so with Juno as much as is plausible.
As for writing? I usually write off the cuff, making tons of introspective paragraphs to explain his actions and cutting out unnecessary blocks at the end.

I sort of see what's going on in the story as though it was a movie, and try to use my words to show the reader what I'm seeing in an appropriate detail for the pacing of the action. I'm not going to focus on the shape or luster of a rock if we're in the middle of a fight, but I might do so if it's a slow paced, introspective moment.
This often leads me to not do much introspective work, but it sort of fits Gozen anyways. He's SUPPOSE to be an estranged and odd character, I don't want you to know what he's thinking.
