Star Wars The Old Republic
#1
http://www.swtor.com/

I demand you check it out! =O

If you liked KOTOR 1 (and maybe KOTOR 2) you'll probably enjoy this. Star Wars The Old Republic is being made by Bioware and Lucas Arts as an MMO.

Currently there are the two main factions; Empire and Rebel, with classes corresponding to each alignment. I'm married to this instead of WoW. Currently applying for a raiding officer position in a guild.

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

So, since we all know of this ahead of time we should roll the same server/faction. I vote Empire!

I'm thinking Sith Inquisitor myself. After browsing the site a little it all looks pretty fun! Bioware may regain my confidence

Umm...that's retarded if they are called that.

The Star Wars the Old Republic game takes place in the Old Republic Era. The KOTOR games took place approximately 4000 years before the Battle of Yavin (Episode IV). The Galactic Empire (which we all know as just "The Empire) was not formed until Episode III, 19 years before the Battle of Yavin. The factions should in no way be Empire and Rebel. The two factions should be the Republic and the Sith.

I understand that they are calling it the Sith Empire. But that will lead people to believe it is the same Empire that exists 4000 years in the future. That's dumb.

LucasArts is actually involved?

There's a good chance I won't bother checking this out now.

I wasn't exactly paying attention. I tend to do that. It's the Republic and Sith Empire. >.>

Well the only two company logos that stand out are Bioware and LucasArts.

Dunno if this is the reason he's thinking of, but LucasArts finds a way to make potentially great concepts into incredibly average games. That's my experience, anyway.

I think they're only involved because they own the rights to Star Wars. Bioware is making the game.

"Fucking awful" is the phrase you were looking for.

You want to talk about the Midas Touch of Shit, LucasArts are the people to ask.

And if that's the extent of their involvement, I'll be happy.

I'm sure. LucasArts, I don't believe, is a development company, but a funding source. Industrial Light and Magic is Lucas' movie company.
