I wrote this for my Creative Writing class, just wanted some opinions. Believe me, it looks at lot better tabbed and not spaced, but these boards don't support tab...
I woke up?The sun was beating down onto the earth and onto me, what had happened last night? My mind felt hazy, and my head hurt. As I stood up, I looked at my body; I was wearing my khakis and white T-shirt still, from last night. The sand was hot beneath my bare feet. I was in the desert, but why?
Suddenly a man came running toward me, he spoke in a different language, and of course I had no idea what he was saying. As a pathetic attempt to communicate with him, I used my hands, but nonetheless he babbled on and pulled at my arm. So as he pulled me I followed, this strange Arabic man was taking me somewhere. It was so hot out, I started to sweat and my mouth grew parched. Where were we going? I had no idea where I even was!
The man spoke again as we neared a rather large gate, I hadn?t seen this before, had we been walking for a long time? The large doors, which seemed about 7 or 8 feet tall and all together 6 or 7 feet wide, opened. Now, I was never the type to stare, but when those gates opened I couldn?t help it. There were millions of people within the giant walls, all of them Arabic, while I was white. Rather pale if I do say so myself, I?ve always wanted a tan.
The man who had brought me here pushed me forward, pretty hard. As he pushed me I listened to the chatter of the towns? people, a few words I recognized such as rice, cow, blanket, but all the rest was so alien to me. And, like I had stared so frequently, they did the same. Perhaps it was my skin color, or maybe my fashionable clothing, who knows?
Well, although I felt like a guest, I was actually a prisoner. This is something I realized once they slapped cold iron cuffs onto my hands, they were heavy too. I wish I was back home, wherever that was, I don?t even remember?I think I lost my mind, amnesia perhaps.
Three large aggressive Arabic men grabbed me; they dragged me through a dark building. At the moment, I couldn?t see very much, but I didn?t care. Didn?t these people realize I could walk? Odd people. They dragged me through corridors and down steps, until we were in a dungeon looking place, this I could tell because it was cold and there were bars. A prison.
As they threw me into one of the cells, I made an oof sound, and I landed on my shoulder, that?ll leave a mark. They left me, which I was glad, their glares didn?t make me feel good at all.
So, now that I was alone, I had to figure some things out, like? What?s my name? ?James?? No, that couldn?t be it??John!? No?Maybe it was Jason, or Bink?Wait, I know what it is, ?Brian!? Yes, that was my name. So, at least I remember my name, maybe I?ll remember some more things, ?I?m 25?I live in?? Shoot! I can?t remember everything, but I?m sure it?ll come back to me.
***
Brian P. Nickson was my name. I?m 25 years old and that?s all I can remember, as I looked around the cold cell I could notice aged bones in a corner, I grimaced, it was rather disturbing. There was no light; obviously we were deep below the earth?s surface. I rubbed my eyes, they were getting use to the darkness and I could see more. There were four cells in all, I didn?t see anyone, but I heard someone.
?Brian, huh?? shocked, I turned toward the voice, there was a shadowed figure in the cell next to mine, ?I heard you. My name is Jussia? I started to make out his face, he was Arabic as well, a long scar ran across his face and it looked like he had been beaten up quit a lot, ?Why?re you here?? he asked me.
?Well, I really don?t know.? I replied plainly, because honestly I didn?t, ?I don?t even know where I am.? Maybe this man could tell me where I was.
He laughed roughly, ?I thought as much, not many people come here dressed like that.? He said referring to my clothing, ?You?re in Miskya Egypt, not many people know of it.? He came out of the shadows, his clothing were mere rags on his boney limbs. How could they treat people like that? This man looked like he hadn?t eaten in weeks!
?I don?t know how you got here, Brian,? He started, looking at my face, ?but believe me, there must be a reason.? He shifted; the sound of a door opening got both of our attention. Jussia was back in his corner of darkness, while I, in my pretty little outfit, sat on the dirty floor waiting. I wanted answers.

In Egypt, you never slept out in the night. In Egypt you never disobeyed the law. What was the law? Well, I suppose I was going to find out. As I sat waiting, footsteps could be heard in the darkness of this eerie prison. It sounded like maybe four or so people were shuffling down the sandy steps.
I was wrong, it was only two middle sized men, and one of them spoke to me, ?Filthy.? Was all he had said, was I really that dirty? The other one sneered and opened the door of my cell, ?It?s a pity Princess Ashebaska wants to see you, or else I?d screw up that pretty little face of yours.? He said again, whiled grabbing the scruff of my shirt tightly. He pulled me close so I could smell his rather gross breath, ?Believe me, I will hurt you.? He dropped me and backed out of the cell. I stood up, dusting myself off, and walked out of the cell as the other man grabbed my arms and cuffed my wrists.
They walked me up the sandy stairs and through those dark corridors, now I could see everything. It was as big as a palace, walls with hieroglyphics and paintings. Candles and torches were along the walls to give light. There were stair cases? leading up and down every which way. Servants, I guessed, moved around doing servant like things. They sometimes chatted to one another, in that odd alien tongue which I knew not of.
I was pushed into a room, it was dim and no one was in it. But I did notice a rather large door on the opposite side of the room, ?Princess Ashebaska awaits you.? The other man, whom had sneered at me, said. He un-cuffed me and both him and the other man turned to leave. The door shut behind them so I was left alone, alone to meet this Princess whom I had never even heard of.
?Uhm?? I thought, my hand against the door, before I could do a thing, it slowly slid open. I stumbled back somewhat, prepared for whatever was behind the door. As it came to a stop, I peered inside.
There was low music, a guitar maybe? No, it was more of a scratchy sound. I don?t know where it was coming from, but I just shrugged it off. The room itself was dimly lit, like the previous one. I could smell spices in the air, sweet and ravishing. The walls were painted, the artists here had a good talent, I wasn?t much of an artist. At least I think I wasn?t. But this room, it was like something in a dream. Candles lined along the walls, and as I walked bare footed into the room. The door closed. I turned around to see it shutting, and frankly, I was scared.
?Don?t be afraid.? I heard a voice, it was soft and feminine. It was like a voice of a Goddess, not that I?d ever heard a Goddess speak, but if I had, this voice would be it. So, I turned around to see her. She was beautiful. No, beautiful didn?t do justice to what she was, she was a Goddess. Her hair was black, like a raven. It fell down below her shoulders and looked like silk. Her skin was a creamy brown, like a light chocolate. Delicious. Her eyes, from this distance, I could see were green. Like jade, such a beautiful color. She wore a golden silk cloth over her chest, and a white one that wrapped around her waist and hung somewhat between her legs so that nothing was revealed.
?Uhm?? I managed to stammer, I had been staring at her for quit a while. She was motioning me toward her, and for some reason I didn?t hesitate. I was standing in front of her. She stood on a round area where pillows littered the ground, pots and baskets were lined outside the rim of this circle like area and there were two steps, in which I stood. I looked up at her, almost pleading for her to speak again.
?Do you know why you?re here?? she asked, looking at me with those eyes as she moved closer.
?No,? I said and watched her. Her slender legs, her flowing hair. Her face was an oval like shape, her nose somewhat small and her lips were dabbed with color so they shown beautifully. I caught myself staring.
?You?re here because I need you, Brian.? How did she know my name? Maybe Jussia was right, maybe I was here for a reason. I couldn?t contemplate it further; I was interrupted by this woman?s hand on the side of my face. She brushed her soft hand along my cheek making me scream inside, why did it feel so good? I closed my eyes, and then opened them again. She was walking behind me, in a circle. Obviously ?checking me out.? All I could do was wait, wait for her angelic voice to sound again.
?Do you know why I need you?? she finally asked. She was standing in front of me, her big beautiful eyes staring into mine. She really was expecting me to answer so I managed to speak.
?No,? was all I could really say, she only smiled and let out a soft chuckle that made me melt inside. It was like she had some kind of power over me, maybe she did, ?Why, tell me?? I asked finally, trying to pull myself together. She just smiled, trying to look innocent, I guessed. Now that she was closer than before, I could almost see through her silky garments. What the heck was she trying to do? Seduce me?
?You have something I want,? she started, turning around. I watched her hips rocking slowly from side to side. My hands ached to reach out and pull her closer, but I didn?t dare. She was really trying to drive me insane, this was her plan, I could tell. The way she looked at me, I could see it in her soft looking eyes. Her hands rose above her head; she turned her head sideways to look at me as she danced. I knew now, she wanted something from me she had said, and she was trying to seduced me to get it.
I scoffed, ?Acting like that will NOT get anything out of me!? I said sternly, this surprised her, I could tell. I felt powerful. But my moment of glory was over; oh my god was it ever. Before I could even say a thing she was up against my body. Right against it! Now, I don?t know how you would have dealt with the situation, but I fainted.
***
I awoke the next morning with one of the worst headaches. I scrunched up my face and held a hand to my forehead while letting a deep breath escape my lips. What the heck had happened? It felt like someone had dropped a boulder on my head. All I could remember was Princess Ashebaska against me, and that was it. I can?t believe I had fainted, maybe back home, wherever that was, I was a real nerd who had no girl friend at all, or wife.
I sat up, looking around at my surroundings. I was in a large bed with animal furs piled up on me and under me. The pillows where my head had been were stuffed with feathers and were the most comfortable pillows I had ever slept on. There were four long posts going up at the corners of the bed and silk cloths draped down between them. The sunlight from outside was raining down into the room and sparkling against the pretty fabric, it danced against the part of the blanket where my legs were. The room itself was beautiful, a wooden dresser was at one side on my left, on the other side was the window and beside it was a small table that a vase stood on. The vase had pictures on it and strange symbols. I could smell a sweet and spicy smell in the air, and little candles lined the floor by the wall for night time. The whole room was made of stone; I wondered what kind of stone as I pulled the blankets off my body.
As I suspected, I was wearing the same clothes as before. I slid off the comfy bed and got on my knees to inspect the stone floor. It felt like something I had felt before, maybe I was really a Geologist; I honestly wished I knew who I was. I wondered that as my hand slid against the smooth floor, not even a spec of dust was found. It was beautiful, I hadn?t seen it before but the rock held a tint of gold in it and the surface of the mineral actually shimmered when light hit its surface.
?Ah, you?re awake.? A voice had sounded, I stood up quickly realizing I probably looked like a fool, staring at the floor, ?Would you like breakfast?? the girl said, she wasn?t as beautiful as Ashebaska and she looked younger. She wore dull clothing that looked drab and aged. Her hair was tied into a neat bun atop her head; her eyes were a deep brown color that matched her blackish hair. Her skin, like every person in this place besides me, was a dark brown. Obviously this girl worked out in the sun a lot because her skin was so tanned. She was waiting for me to answer her, so I politely replied.
?What do you have?? I was hungry, I realized that now as my stomach gurgled and I felt a pegging feeling in my gut. When was the last time I ate anyway? I don?t even remember. What struck me even more surprised was the fact that I was in this luxurious room and not in the dark cold cell beside Jussia. Really odd indeed.
?Well, we have lamb, rice, wine, and I hear the kul?ska is good, I wouldn?t know though.? She said, her voice was nice. It was soft like velvet and it intrigued me, not as intriguing as the Princess? voice but still beautiful.
?What is kul?ska?? I asked, maybe it was like a desert. I didn?t know, I?ve never even heard the word before. But I liked the way it rolled off her tongue, when I tried to say it, it sounded like bad pronunciation.
?Well, it?s very common around these parts,? she started, ?the way it?s made is you take the meat from the cow, or lamb, and cook it within it?s own blood.? She paused, ?Then you add rice and I heard that camel urine was used in it as well, they say it?s sweet.? She smiled a sweet smile, ?But once again, I wouldn?t know for myself.?
And neither would I. This meal sounded more like haggis, and I don?t find camel urine a yummy addition to my food, ?Uh, no thanks, I?ll just have some rice and a cup of orange juice.? I said, she seemed confused for a second.
?Is cider ok?? she asked, I simply nodded realizing we were in the desert; I don?t think they grew oranges out here.
?Alright, I?ll be back with your food.? She curtsied and hurried out of the room, she didn?t even tell me her name, and why did she curtsy? This place was weird, and what I did realize, was that on her way out she closed the door and I heard a click. So I was still a prisoner, and you would have thought they?d have barred up the window. But when I walked to it to look out, I realized why they didn?t bar it up. Straight down was maybe a 20 feet drop, no kidding. I gulped and stepped away from the window.
?So I?m a prisoner, but I?m not?? I spoke to myself; my voice was gruff and low. I stroked my chin; I could feel the revealing stubble. I guess at home I shaved, too bad I couldn?t here, maybe I?d look good with a beard. I contemplated that for a while until the door opened again.
I woke up?The sun was beating down onto the earth and onto me, what had happened last night? My mind felt hazy, and my head hurt.
