This sums up pretty much everything I hate about US views of other countries in one sentence.
I've gotten used to it, and the knowledge that Garlic's joking around means I don't take it seriously, but the fact that many people actually think that's what the UK is like makes me a sad person 
Bring out the BBC English stereotypes someone.From my horribly biased view I'd have to say the US marines are less disciplined. We (or at least I) have all been regaled with stories from Iraq where US troops have been killing unarmed civilians left and right, but I have no desire to go into depth on this subject
I haven't been in the field of battle myself, so I can't comment first-hand on the skill of the troops. And, like all collections of people, an army is only as good as the individuals that make it up. Not ALL members of a good army are good, and vice versa.

But, I know it's nothing like that ude to the ammount of people I know over there. And as far as the sterotype of British people can go, personally, you can shove it up your ass ^^

The US Marines are better trained and better equipped. Having more money than everyone else tends to be quite valuable to whichever country... has more money than everyone else. To be fair, though, you should have cited the Special Air Service or something, since they're far more frequently compared to the US Marines even though their purposes aren't identical. The SAS is of a higher caliber than the Royal Marines.
