Mass Effect 1/2 - Jonathan Meer - 02-21-2011

Neat. Paper Rock Scissors.

The difficulty in this game isn't as frustrating as it was in Mass Effect.

DELAYED EDIT: Not Mass Effect. Dragon Age.

Mass Effect 1/2 - Kaden - 02-21-2011

It's exactly Rock Paper Scissors. Unless you're the Sentinel class. Then it's just you.

I actually had a lot more fun playing through the game on Hardcore than I did playing through it on the easier difficulties. You actually had to, like, think. And play. Even on Hard you can dick around and barely use cover and still just drop a Singularity and rock everyone's face off without taking any damage. Having to think about what kinds of enemies you'll be facing and what kind of teammates you want to counter their defenses... it made for much more engaging gameplay.

Mass Effect 1/2 - Kole T. Merr - 03-06-2011

I just bought ME2 last week, and started playing a Vanguard. It's actually a lot of fun, and I really want to stick it in Miranda AND Kelly (the secretary).

Thiiiiisssss

I caught up on DLC today (well, Overlord and Shadow Broker). Overlord was creepy but good. Shadow Broker was just awesome - and my femShep's fastidious dedication to her 'azure' bedmate finally paid off. About goddamn time she got her sexy groove on.

I play Adept and it's still fun. I have a Soldier and the Adrenaline thing is just delicious.

I think I'm going to try a Vanguard on my next play through. The fully upgraded Geth Shield that I loaded up for Shadow Broker content was pretty ridiculous. just ran up to guys and melee'd them in the face all day.

Mass Effect 1/2 - Kaden - 04-07-2011

On lower difficulties, Vanguard is ridiculously fun. On higher difficulties it's just frustrating, sadly. Even with a shield power, melee and shotguns are not good things to have to rely on.

Mass Effect 1/2 - Belle Hibiki - 04-08-2011

Started an Insanity playthrough today.

Less "Insanity" and more "Jesus fucking christ, why does EVERYTHING take FOREVER to die."

Krogans are pretty scary, though. Not gonna lie.

Mass Effect 1/2 - Vad - 04-08-2011

I agree. It's nuts.

Yes they are. Even WITH fire ammo they suck.

EDIT: Or Warp, I guess, since you said you were playing Adept. It's funny how, even on just Hard, the game keeps giving you tips about using fire/warp to counteract regen and you're all "wut regen lolz" and then you turn up the difficulty and go "ohhhh THAT fucking regen."

Mass Effect 1/2 - Vad - 04-08-2011

xD!

Couldn't have said it better Mario.

Mass Effect 1/2 - Psyren - 04-09-2011

I have every peice of me2 dlc...and I mean every one...from clothes to weapons andarmor...all the way to dr pepper head peices lol I got the new dlc arrival the other day....Its pretty boss took me about an hour or so to finish but was deffinitly worth 560 microsoft points.

Im a straight out soldier on the game. I prefer weapons and cover instead of biotics. And yes Adrenaline rush is a freaking boss move.

Mass Effect 1/2 - Super Buu - 06-03-2011

So I finished my renegade runthrough on ME1 AT LAST, and goddamn, the options for being a dick are so much better in the sequel. (like most everything else)

"Hey everyone! This store discriminates against the poor!" made me lol.

Also "I've had enough of your disingenuous assertions." *right hooks lady*

Mass Effect 1/2 - Rafael - 06-03-2011

You didn't punch the lady on every playthrough? I could never not, regardless of alignment, just like the option the throw that guy through the window

Mass Effect 1/2 - Super Buu - 06-03-2011

Well, this is only my second playthrough. I saw it on youtube at some point, but I still laughed hard when I actually did it.

Mass Effect 1/2 - Jonathan Meer - 06-03-2011

Playing through ME2 at the moment and loving it. Great characters.

Mass Effect 1/2 - Psyren - 06-04-2011

I like how you can falcon punch her on the first game and then on the second game she remembers how you punched her last time...Then you totes get to falcon punch her again...I hope in ME3 Ill get to punch her in the face and say..HEY I TOLD YOU TWICE ALREADY MAKE ME A SANDWICH QUIT HAVING A CAREER!!! *FALCON PUNCH*

Mass Effect 1/2 - Jonathan Meer - 06-05-2011

spoiler i guess

Bioware, utilitarianism is not evil, nor is it renegade-y. It takes moral fucking fiber to have the balls to do what Mordin Solus did with the genophage. To recognize what needs to be done, then do it, then have the strength to confront the repercussions. That's moral. That's fucking paragon. Don't give me renegade points for that shit.

And this isn't me picking your ass apart either, you pulled this shit in Dragon Age too.

(This is me talking to bioware, but obviously bioware doesn't read this shit, so it's just for effect lolol)

end spoiler

Mass Effect 1/2 - Super Buu - 06-05-2011

That's why they don't call it good and evil. It's more like, different styles. Renegade is more like a "greater good at any cost" approach, though sometimes they use it for just being a dick for fun.

Mass Effect 1/2 - Jonathan Meer - 06-05-2011

Except Renegade includes things like punching antagonistic female reporters.

I agree. I actually don't think that Mordin story fits into their Paragon/Renegade paradigm at all.

It's awesome, though.

Mass Effect 1/2 - Jonathan Meer - 06-06-2011

Oh, totally. There've been at least four times I've set my mouse down and leaned back and thought about the dilemma. That one's been the most intense.

I'm doing a Renegade-only runthrough at the moment (through ME1, eventually to 2), and it's extremely frustrating. I want to max renegade for the intimidation bonus, but that means my character essentially has to be a dick. rawr
