Meant to post this yesterday, but with the shit that's going on with my car, I'm probably not going to be able to pay for the minecraft server for a week or two. Was not expecting to suddenly be out $650. So if it goes down, it'll just be for a week or two I think.
EDIT: Disregard that. Friend in Florida paid for the next month for you all.

Awesome. Hours of work and resources gone. Know what WASN'T a good idea? Putting a giant slab of torchless plaque on top of my castle made entirely of GLASS AND SNOW. Not like anything gonna spawn up there and aimlessly wander, only to literally blow the shit out of huge portions of my fuckin shit.
I don't mind some griefing, but this is like, the second thing that's been broken, and I'm not counting like, little shit here. This is fucking ridiculous. The amount of work that's going into trying to reverse this is getting just fucking crazy here.

I've had similar happen to me before. Its very, very frustrating. I try to pretend that since we are all friends, griefing won't happen.

I'm legitimately trying very hard to be a "good sport" about it, but I mean, when somewhere in the neighborhood of like... 2 hours of work just gets blown the fuck up it's really hard. And that's not to mention how much time I'm gonna have to spend trying to find these fuckin doors. Apparently there's a trap plate somewhere, which is awesome. Jesus.

I blew three things last time I was on. I'm terribly sorry, but creepers literally fell down from the sky. I think it was a letter, a tunnel and then some of my own shit.
I also knocked into someone's tunnel. Sorry. I'll cover it up all piston-like.

Isn't the point of griefing that you take satisfaction in their strife? Doesn't that mean your intent is to cause harm from the outset?

Yes, but even Captain McRagepants (me) can appreciate the fact that it IS just like... that weird thing where you fuck with your friends. I dunno. It's funny, and terribly irritating, but I mean, it's like practical jokes. They didn't MEAN to fuck shit up, I think it was just an unforeseen after effect of said joke.
I guess the difference is whether or not the damage is reversible and the amount of time it takes to reverse said damage that determines if it's gone to far. I only got really upset when creepers started exploding my glass and snow up there.

Yes, the intention was to only be a nuisance, not cause damage to his stuff.

I do like practical jokes, but I definitely feel some of the things are further than I find as a practical joke (in that some people laugh at small things but get pissed if your friends aluminum foil up your car and cause damage). I mean, I've even gone down and set up a clackety repeat open close door clock in Trygelan's old base. Drove him nuts. He was not amused.

As Sigfried said, it's right in line with practical jokery. If someone makes a big hubbub, that makes them even more of a target for pranking.
That said, I forgot to add, I'll help rebuild whatever got creeper'd. That, obviously, wasn't part of our intent (and in retrospect, we should've torched it up).
As a sidenote, I make a habit of giving a gift to the person I'm griefing; stack of coal here, couple of diamonds there. Depends on the extent of the grief.

Practical joking I have no issue with. Stuff like Ashe leaving the music boxes in my base. Something along the lines of torching my house and killing my wolf would cause issues though. I was reading that as someone was just being a dick to be a dick kind of thing. Real griefing. Also was in some what of a bad mood when I made my last post so there's that too.
As for my friend, great guy, I'll tell him you all said thanks. He's also been whitelisted on the server, so he might be around from time to time as well.
