24 sounds like quite an unreasonable number, if your dead set on twenty four participants then I highly doubt this tournament will ever get farther than the old drawing board, I suggest you lower the number of participants to something more modest, like 8 or maybe 16.

Alright, I'm actually thinking about lowering it to 16, but that would remove the Battle Royale Finale aspect, and that was one of my favorite bits...Maybe eighteen?

I think this would be a semi decent idea. Depends on the participants and stuff. Give any thought to what you will dish out to the winner or second place?
what about a double elimination tourney? or two brackets of 10?
EDIT: Maybe each contestant dish out "X" amount of zeni to participate. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd get cash rewards.

I'll be honest, the racing part kinda turns me off. I like the idea of doing other non-fighting events to determine the fight order and brackets, but imagine 24/16/10 people all writing three rps a piece about nothing much more then simply running or flying to a random finish line, I'm not saying it's a bad idea but I am saying most of those rp's are going to be extremely similar and kinda bland for the poor host that has to read all of them(honestly, not trying to knock anyone here but at least in my mind no matter how great of a writer you are there are only so many variations you can create for doing the same thing). I don't know what you could use in place of the races, but I'm sure they're is probably something better than racing.
That's basically all the criticism I've got, everything else seems like a pretty decent idea.
I'll admit, I'm kind of intrigued.

Bingo, we did something like that on one of my previous RP's, it did indeed get very bland and boring. I suggest either changing or spicing it up a tad.

I think if we molded this into strictly a two bracket tourney it would be a good thing. It wouldn't be super complex, and not too basic. It wouldn't take months to do either.
Making something too complex, without your name being burter, you might as well call it "bound to fail".

1,000 zeni entry
finalist from each bracket are automatically in the money.
Each battle is staged in a different area, (forest, mountains, underwater, basic ring, etc.) to make things more interesting.

About the race idea...
You can make it like IGPX. You are on a 1,800 mile track or so, and you can fight others along the way. So it could be three good RP's, and it could have team ups, betrayal, ganging up on one contestant, and alot of other idea's I'm too lazy to write down.

You know, when I saw this thread, I immediately thought it was going to be about the Black Star Dragons. >_> I figured Shenron had a hit list of all the dragons he wanted taken out, and he hired a bunch of mercs to do it. lol
