I hope you learned your lesson and you're taking breathing masks next time.
I remember the story of this American who used to work around Beijing, and his young son suffered from chronic breathing problems. He moved to LA, the most polluted city in the USA, and the problems went away. He jokes that he moved because he got a new job, but he stayed for the air.

Not really. Beijing is one of the most polluted modern cities on the face of the planet. Breathing problems are chronic there.

Yeah, I'll bring my own camera this time...I already know all the stuff in Beijing that I want to get pictures of...a shame we're not going to Chengde again...beautiful stuff out there...
