Don't think there would even be a chance of a price drop til at least holiday season or later.

Hmmkay.

40Gig PS3 tomorrow, with a second SixAxis, Assassin's Creed, and either Resistance, Vegas, or Call of Duty 4.

I've got me a dorm-mate who's brother works at UbiSoft. Says he can get me a monthly deal on any UbiSoft title for $15. Vegas 2 in September, Prince of Persia in November.

Hoo baby. =D

Bit of advice: don't bother with a second SixAxis. Shell out the extra five bucks for a Dualshock 3 with the rumble feature. It's worth the five bucks, trust me.

I've also played all those shooters you mentioned. I strongly recommend CoD4 out of them. Resistance is overhyped in my opinion. And I own it.

You won't be disappointed with CoD4. Also, good choice with Assassin's Creed but I would recommend it more as a rental. It's quick to beat and has no real replay value to speak of.

I played Assassin's Creed. I loved it. I'll definitely be buying it. Much like Mercenaries; I play it not so much to do the actual missions, but just to kick-ass while wandering around.

CoD4 is still very high; that's my only concern. If I were to shell out sixty, I'd get GTA4.

If SixAxis is still $50, I'll definitely be getting the DualShock 3 then.

What'd you think of Vegas 2, Celipa?

PS3 or 360? - Sage - 07-09-2008

Uh... if you enjoy singleplayer, you'll be massively disappointed with CoD4.

It's like, three hours of gameplay. Admittedly, it's like, the best three hours a shooter could possibly bring to the table, but, still. A bit short.

PS3 or 360? - Jonathan Meer - 07-09-2008

PS3 online is free. =D

PS3 or 360? - Sage - 07-09-2008

Oh. I know. I, personally, don't buy games for the multiplayer aspect. Hence the warning, is all.

I have, admittedly, thought about getting Live, though. Would be fun to pwn sum Chubbsian n00bs.

PS3 or 360? - Jonathan Meer - 07-09-2008

I'll admit, I'm not so keen on multiplayer aspects either, but there are exceptions to be made, particularly on the more "tactical/quirky" multiplayers. For example, I adored Splinter Cell Chaos Theory multiplayer.

PS3 or 360? - Waffuru - 07-09-2008

I loved Resistance, online and offline. Didn't care for CoD4 though.

Warhawk is also hella sexy.

PS3 or 360? - Jonathan Meer - 07-09-2008

Got PS3.

I don't know if I shall ever play any other game than CoD4 online.

I have no idea what the hell that was.

I'm a 360 personally. I'm surprised people have made such a big deal about the graphic difference as a swaying factor. I thought games that looked shit but were fun were worth playing, not the other way around? Anyway, most exclusives on 360 I prefer over PS3 (probably because I don't know/care/heard of the others, even MGS series).

PS3 or 360? - Saz - 07-10-2008

I didn't know there was a big graphic capability gap between the two consoles. From what I've seen/heard, games that have been out on both consoles look the same, (or even better on the 360). Maybe the developers are just getting to grips with the PS3's hardware. /shrug

That was my impression. On every review of GTA4, there was apparently only very small differences in favour of the PS3, but nothing that made it better than the 360 version.

PS3 or 360? - Jonathan Meer - 07-10-2008

That's how it will be. We'll see (or have already seen) the limit of the 360, pretty much. The PS3 is only getting started.

Graphically, it will beast the 360. Just wait for one of the newer exclusives.

PS3 or 360? - Saz - 07-10-2008

What, you have a PS3 for one day and suddenly you're a fully fledged PS3 fanboy. Is that how it is? Shame on you Krillin.

PS3 or 360? - Jonathan Meer - 07-10-2008

Dude. This baby is sexy.

PS3 or 360? - Orion - 07-10-2008

That's ... concerning.

PS3 or 360? - Jonathan Meer - 07-10-2008

Yes, it is very concerning, not only of my personal feelings, but also of the temperature in my room.

Yeah, 360 uses DirectX which everyone already knows how to use...

The PS3 uses a more complicated system that easier converts to DirectX so developers are coding for PS3 and porting it now.

The difference is null at this point.
