PS3 Home - Jonathan Meer - 12-20-2008 At least they're not sterotypical, then. Most over-the-top video game fans that aren't over-testosteronated are Nintendoids. PS3 Home - Super Buu - 12-20-2008 I find PA funny, but I don't take their word as gospel. If I didn't doubt reviewers, I wouldn't be a fan of games like God Hand and Web of Shadows. I wasn't actually criticising Home, I don't even have a PS3, I just thought the comic and link were relevant to the topic =P PS3 Home - Sullivan - 12-21-2008 I look for both good reviews and bad reviews for a game, when I'm reading reviews for it at all. Most of the time, I just buy games that I know that I want. PS3 Home - Super Buu - 12-21-2008 I always read reviews because I usually have to make a choice of one game out of several I want. But I tend to look for WHY they liked or disliked a game, rather than the outcome itself. For example, if a reviewer knocked a game because it has a bad story, or says it's the best game of all time because of it's story, I won't pay much attention. (I've seen so many bad games forgiven of all their sins because the reviewer was mostly playing for the story and not the game itself - which is fine, but make it clear) Not to say I don't enjoy a good story, it just doesn't factor in very much when I'm buying games. Most reviewers are also pretty harsh on games if they're too short - to me, length is irrelevant to how fun the game is when you're playing it. Or if a game is too easy - that doesn't always bother me, as long as it's still fun. Those are all pretty common reviewer complaints that I don't take to heart. |
