Transformers 2 - Tyr - 06-28-2009 I haven't even seen the movie but already seen so many articles on the twin robots being a sign of racism and stereotypes because they said something about not being able to read and one of them has a gold tooth? Transformers 2 - Shou - 06-29-2009 Saw it yesterday, after the Hangover. Enjoyed both very much. Especially the Hangover. Transformers 2 - Psyren - 06-29-2009 Sitting in a theatre right now watching it. Movie just started...im enjoying th eidea of prehistoric autobots. Transformers 2 - Kami - 06-29-2009 It was great, if people are pulling stereotypes out of the movie I can see where they get it but I agree with the "giving the robots more personality" defense. Maybe it was because they killed the "black" transformer in the last one =( Except their race is AUTOBOT. They are fucking robots they don't have race. =( Anyways, it was an awesome two and a half hours of slow motion tit bouncing and robot fighting. Transformers 2 - Szar - 06-29-2009 The tit bouncing was good, but I couldn't tell the robots apart when they were fighting. Plus, the attempts at humor fell flat on their face, and seeing an old man in a jock strap on the big screen in entirely unacceptable. Transformers 2 - Orion - 07-06-2009 Awesome movie, but suffers from the same problem as the first; too much focus on humans and not enough on the Transformers. Hell, I didn't even know half the names of the new Transformers, I don't know if they even said their names. Transformers 2 - Dehan - 07-06-2009 Orion Wrote:Awesome movie, but suffers from the same problem as the first; too much focus on humans and not enough on the Transformers. Hell, I didn't even know half the names of the new Transformers, I don't know if they even said their names. Agreed, they didn't. I unwillingly saw the film a second time...yes I said unwillingly because once was enough. *shakes head* It's like...the potential for the movie is pretty great then maybe a little into the film you're left going 'Oh...huh.....*goes to get popcorn and chill near the video games*. Sam's roommate guy...I hate that character so much. He really did wear out his welcome, they should have had him run off during the library scene. But nope...for whatever reason they kept him around. I noticed little stuff after watching it a second time and let me say...I don't think I'll rush to theaters to see the third. I will be able to wait until the dvd hits shelves. Transformers 2 - Ashe - 07-07-2009 Just got back from watching it. I enjoyed it, but only in a "dumb entertainment" sorta way. Again, I did enjoy the movie, but I do feel that most of the complaints hold water. Like Leon said, it kinda upped the language a LOT. Like, a massive lot. Yeah, no f-bombs were dropped, but everyone in the movie to include the parents were swearing like it was a new discovery for them. There was also a lot of going overboard which killed some of the jokes. The twins? Yeah, funny, most of the time, but the can't read joke and other stuff just goes overboard. Not in an offensive way, just in a "we get it already" sorta way. Like a Meet the Spartans sorta way. Most of the bots weren't given names, or at least mentioned. A lot of the human scenes were actually just kinda filler. The pot brownies joke? That was entirely dumb and whoever decided that the movie needed stoner humor involved just because college was mentioned and it was thus a requirement should be fired. It was unnecessary, and did nothing but fill the next ten minutes with sheer stupidity ala Harold and Kumar Go To Cybertron. It seemed like a desperate grab for teenage attention, as did a lot of the random ass humping/sex jokes. "derr robot testicles". Yeah, I laughed, but I still felt it was stupid. Dogs humping. Robots humping legs. WE GET IT, YOUR BALLS JUST DROPPED. "What, you hit puberty?" was even asked, which makes me wonder if there was inspiration there. I don't even want to discuss the sheer stupidity of the fembot chick (nor how obvious it was the moment she came onto him after he started writing shit). Dumb, pointless, and really did not affect the story at all. It wasn't even mentioned five minutes afterwards short of one joke when the pointless robot humping leg scene happened. However, I found the story BEHIND the story to be very interesting. All the stuff surrounding the actual plot and the older bots and the war and Primes etc, was all great. That should have been the focus of the movie. Not "Pointless Roommate Follows the Crowd for Comic Relief - Along with 10 Other Comic Relief Characters". EDIT: Optimus in the 1v3 fight was a fucking badass. And I like his constant Sean Connery style of doing things, so poised and confident. The fusion part was kinda cool a bit too, but that 1v3 fight was pretty awesome. Transformers 2 - Piper Juunanagou - 07-07-2009 Saw it a few days ago. Mostly entertaining, but there was far too much adolescent potty humor. There was literally an entire half hour or so in the middle where it was just constant jokes and/or references to testicles. Transformers 2 - Josh - 07-07-2009 Bil Baer Jaxx Wrote:This was the cover for today's issue of Red Eye (local Chicago entertainment paper): Transformers 2 - Dehan - 07-07-2009 Yes...his fight was my favorite of the movie and the second time I was into it. So yeah if you guys want to see Optimus in what I consider his most awesome battle eva than go see the film. Transformers 2 - Super Buu - 07-08-2009 Just saw it, I preferred it to the first film. My main two complaints with the first were that you couldn't see shit during the fights, and the focus was too much on the humans. Both of those have been alleviated a bit, I think. Optimus 3v1 fight was definitely the highlight of the film for me, so badass. The love scenes and a lot of the humour made me cringe though. Like the "oh no weed brownie I'm gonna flip out and start doing crazy stuff for no reason!!!" joke which has been done by every terrible comedy film ever. They basically tried to appeal to everyone at the same time, which is a recipe for generic crap. But the giant robot fights were good, and those are all that really matter tbh. The rest is just filler. So I'm definitely glad I saw it. Was also nice seeing Ravage and Soundwave again, even if the former got owned even faster than Jazz. Transformers 2 - Tyr - 07-11-2009 so I still haven't watched the film, but I've gotten curious now and need to ask: There's this new meal menu out from Burger King (I think) with some 'Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen Six Pack'. Basically 6 smaller burgers 3 with honey rings and 3 with jalapenos, and they claim it's inspired by that film. Is there ANYTHING in the film that could have inspired that? Transformers 2 - Kaden - 07-11-2009 Sam's roommate is mexican. That might have been where they got jalapenos... Transformers 2 - Jack - 07-11-2009 That's offensive, Kaden. Transformers 2 - Kaden - 07-11-2009 Shut up! My people love jalapenos. Transformers 2 - Jack - 07-11-2009 I do too. Tacos just aren't tacos unless they're burning the roof of your mouth. Transformers 2 - Kaden - 07-11-2009 The official term for someone who loses skin to a jalapeno is "pussy." Transformers 2 - Ashe - 07-11-2009 You mean that words one of the Twins kept repeatedly calling the roommate? |
