Starborn Heritage - Jesper - 03-23-2010 @Victoria: And that's fine. I'm not bashing people who like the same things I do but for different reasons. @Juno: Trust me, Juno, I was a horrible writer at one time. In two languages, in fact. Starborn Heritage - Aiden - 03-23-2010 I looked at that place a long time ago, it looked cool and the training system was legit, but i never actually did it. btw what happened to our training system after the crash? did it just blow up beyond repair? Starborn Heritage - Juno - 03-23-2010 Sophia Wrote:@Juno: Trust me, Juno, I was a horrible writer at one time. In two languages, in fact. I'm still a horrible writer in most languages. I'm only a pretty good (well, good) writer in English, haha. @Victoria: Same thing as Soph. I desperately like RP'ing with others, so much so that I can get annoying, so if I don't like how the majority of the RPG writes, I pass it by. Doesn't mean other people have to act that way, too. I'm just a snob. xD. Starborn Heritage - Alexander Trafford - 03-23-2010 My point had more do with with a dynamic that encouraged quality writing. At Chubbs we all got better with one another, and because of one another. The competitive element in terms of quality was central in every member's development. As certain players got better, the rest read more and slowly improved until the playing field was even. So, while you would see Starborn Heritage as taking a step backwards, I would see it as an opportunity. What would happen if a cluster of Chubbsians moved over to SH (if it was active)? It would encourage improvement among the current populous, while at the same time you would have fellow Chubbs writers to keep your writing honest. I really don't see a downside. Of course I'm a lazy bastard and could never juggle two RPGs, but that's another point entirely. Starborn Heritage - Ashe - 03-23-2010 I entirely agree with Alex here. While I do enjoy the Chubbs writing, I would not be bold enough to say that its "the best out there" or anything in that direction. I know that Jeff and (I believe) Trez from Vagrant Space have put an insane amount of work into that site, in everything from coding to content. They have provided a sandbox world for those that wished to write in it and really, I don't think they consider writing quality to be something that must be at a certain level to get in. Its more about the groups of writers themselves, so if someone is writing terribly, they'll tend to not find groups to join up with quite as easily. I've really nothing bad to say about the place, and while I haven't looked at the writing or made any judgments about it in some time, I do know that many of the writers that were part of that general community back in the days of VS were all top notch writers. It may have declined since then, but this is part of the life cycle of RPGs - we have our own rise and fall of quality, even within each of us. (Not directed at Sophia, just a generic opinion) Starborn Heritage - Jesper - 03-23-2010 I know that wasn't directed at me, but again, I'm not trying to pass judgment. I'm just saying that the particular site doesn't cater to my own specific needs. It's not about stats or a spiffy system for me anymore (but oh my God, that site has a beautiful layout). And I wasn't spouting some elitist agenda, either. There's a site out there that requires too much for even me to attempt joining, so there are better things out there. <.<; Starborn Heritage - Sage - 03-23-2010 Um. ...What's FL? Starborn Heritage - Ren - 03-23-2010 There is definatelly alot they are putitng into this system even thou the times themselves are not up. It seems interesting enough and im not one to be to rash on judging how people roleplay as there are many ways to do so out there. I found that someone people are one lines, speak out loud types, paragraph types, or story types. Still I ahvent looked voer much yet but the system so I cant make any real judgements other then it doesn't seem all that active to me. That may just be becuase it is new or something but I like rp places that have had life to them for a while at least. Starborn Heritage - Kami - 03-23-2010 Sage Wrote:Um.Google bitch. It's Florida. http://www.usps.com/ncsc/lookups/abbr_state.txt And the Prime Minister of Canada is Stephen Harper (Incumbent) so don't say I never looked up anything about Canada. P.S. I didn't read the thread so I'm unsure of the context...might not be Florida. Starborn Heritage - Sage - 03-23-2010 It's not Florida. =x Starborn Heritage - Josh - 03-23-2010 Holy crap, Jeff would kill me if he saw this thread. Starborn Heritage - Tyr - 03-23-2010 He already did. *dramatically rips off mask* Just kidding, FL is friend list I guess?
