Typing from the new comp. Everything went flawlessly. I forgot to plug in my GPU to the PSU and the computer emit this screech that scared the hell out of me. Homebuilding for the win.

Cyberpower PC - Jack - 01-21-2010

Congrats man. Glad to hear it worked out

Cyberpower PC - Sage - 01-21-2010

Do you still have the world's slowest internet connection attached to your hardcore monster computer or can you *gasp* stream YouTube vids yet?

Cyberpower PC - Jack - 01-21-2010

xD

THIS

Cyberpower PC - Cain - 01-21-2010

Still got dial up, but I have a computer and next gen system in one nice, upgradeable package. And I got the experience of building a computer.

Cyberpower PC - Jack - 01-21-2010

That's the most important thing, the experience. How long did this actually take?

Cyberpower PC - Cain - 01-21-2010

Less than an hour.

Always takes longer for me. I always get a case that's got some horrible flaw. The current one has a problem with it's PCI slots. *slams head on desk*

Cyberpower PC - Jack - 01-21-2010

I mean the entire process of planning/buying/etc

20 minutes if you know what to look for.

Yeah, it depends on how much you know about computers, how much you know about your current machine, and how much you want to change.

A video card, for example, takes no time at all. Replacing a motherboard, on the other hand, is... not fun.

T.T No, it isn't.

Cyberpower PC - Cain - 01-22-2010

It's fun to find the right one, if a little stressful when making sure your choices are right. Replacing one sounds terrible.

It took several hours and a few days to find, buy, and wait for arrival. On top of that, over a week's work went into making the money to buy the parts.
