Krillin would be correct, Hercule. Alcohol of any content is a toxin in your system, which is why your liver has to oxidize it. It also interferes with your synaptic responses. The legal drinking age is 21 in this country for a reason: it's around the age your liver (and brain) is fully developed. Drinking underage interferes with said growth. Consumption of alcohol, no matter how much or how little, is bad.
As for me, I prefer green apple Schnapps. The Pucker stuff. Red rum is nice, and JD on occasion. Both are best chased with Coke if you don't drink it straight. 151 (either/or) is when you want to get really fucked up. Although the old saying goes "beer before liquor," I like to start off with the classic bitch beer, Mike's. Corona is excellent for poker nights.

Alcohol is a toxin, but it's not some man-made poison. Wine is made from grapes, it's all natural.
I find it's more of an acquired taste, Herc. I didn't like it for years, but now I quite like it. I still drink pretty rarely, usually just at special occasions or if I've gotten a bottle of something for Christmas or the like.

Just to retcon my previous post before someone complains about it: no, not all alcoholic drinks are natural. Drinking alcopops is like drinking pure food colouring. And I do think drinking too much, too often is unhealthy. I don't see a problem with the occasional drink, though.

Hercule, I'll grant you that a little bit of alcohol MIGHT be beneficial to your system, much in the same way that strenuous exercise keeps your body from atrophying. However, that doesn't change the fact that it is poison, and even the smallest drop will interfere with your body's mechanisms, no matter how slight.
And yes, red wine is good for your heart, from what I've heard. My grandfather actually had to drink a glass of red wine each night for awhile. However, I'm fairly certain that there's something else besides the alcohol in red wine that is healthy for you, not the alcohol itself.

It's poison that happens to have an obscure application that might be somewhat considered "advantageous". I'm sure cyanide could have some sort of a medicinal application as well, if it didn't have a nasty habit of killing people.
