If you find yourself in a sticky situation, and you decide to have sex when you shouldn't, you can't blame ADHD. That is YOUR fault. ADHD makes it more difficult to control yourself, sometimes, but it never seizes control. This is not an excuse.

I really hate people who use ADHD and ADD as a scape goat for their problems. Its bad parenting thats all it is. Everybody has ADD or ADHD now, and its really just parents using it as a sacpe goat to get out of being called bad parents.

Krillin stated that he was tested multiple times for ADHD and the tests came back positive. Might help to actually read the posts you are refuting, Toma. Also, even if you do have a hard time controlling yourself, I can understand having a cookie before dinner when you aren't supposed to, but engaging in sex? Of course ADHD doesn't help, but blaming it on it is not generally seen as acceptable. =\
I have not had many experiences with ADHD, except that my cousin has it, and all she really did was want to fight me a lot. Not anybody else, 'cause I was the only one that could really play with her (she was of course hyperactive, so she was the only one of my little cousins who could wear me out). At six years old, her current age, she has great control, but she is just hyper.

Odd. I have an incredibly severe case of ADHD (as I've said), and I got a 750 on the Math portion of the SAT. I've consistently scored in the 99th percentile for Math in any test I've taken, including the PSAT and Standardized School Tests. Despite having a strong case of ADHD, I've always been able to concentrate when I wanted to. And, thankfully, my momma didn't let me use my ADHD as an excuse. Good thing, too. I'd be living a lie if she had.

Yet, you can roleplay. Odd. It's not that you have ADHD, you just don't want to write essays. I'll admit, ADHD does require you to have a stronger work ethic, but it does not entirely restrict you from applying yourself.

I have never, ever, EVER taken medication for my ADHD. Zombie medicine? No thank you. I refuse to rely on medicine to keep me straight. I can do it myself, even if it's tougher. And believe me, I've had my fair share of people urging me and my parents to put me on the pills. And every time, they said "No." Thank God.

I have a hard time writing essays, I usually do mediocre (considering my classes) on math tests 'cause I really can't stand it. Do I have ADHD? The chances are definitely pointing to no.
Most people don't like writing essays (even my IB class moaned when we foudn out we have less than two weeks to write an essay on Macbeth) and most of my non-IB friends scored poorly in their math. =\ Sounds to me that you sound like most others, except you have a magical reason for all of this whereas they would just be not like 'most people,' as you phrased it. =\

I have Asperger Syndrome. That makes writing essays pretty hard because I can almost never concentrate on something other than my current fad in my spare time. Strangely enough, I tend to do better in controlled conditions; in the exam room I perform inexplicably well, but leave me to complete a small piece of coursework with 2 month's advance warning, and it won't get done. Usually the best way for me to do an essay is to sit in a classroom in silence while a teacher is nearby, but unfortunately not many in college are willing to do that.
I completely agree with Krillin's stance on medication, though. The worst is when people take pills for things like depression. Sure, it'll make you feel good in the short term, but it won't fix the root of the problem. The only way is to deal with it. And it is harder than if you're a 'neurotypical' person, but I don't think medication is the way out.

Agreed. I mean, if it's a life or death thing, medicate yourself. But it really isn't going to help much.
