I used to sneak home rodents all the time as a kid, but for some reason the box with holes kept giving it away.

I think my cat is about 7 years old, I have a feeling he'll live quite along time, he's very timid with anything and anyone other than me, so there's not much chance of him getting run over or stolen, or something. But when he finally does die I will be absolutely crushed.

We got my cat right before I was born. . .she's now over eighteen years old and still thriving. . .amazing really. . .

Yeah we had a burmese blue cat called Jasper, he lived for 14 years, I think he died when I was 10. I've heard mongrol cats, if that's the right word, live longer than pedigree cats. Acouple of months after Jasper died I got my very own cat, whom I called Milo, but he got run over after less than a year. ;[

He died on some day around easter, I remember that because my cousins came over to visit on the day he died, which sucked balls, I had to put on a brave face all day.

But you probably still live in lame Saskatoon, amirite?

I think I'd like some albino mice.

You Candans shouldn't drink when you name your towns. *shakes head*

What's wrong with naming a place after a fruit or the Latin word for 'queen'?

That's right; I live in the queen city.

Whoa. Didn't know they could live that long. My former died at 12.

Well since I don't know Latin, I concluded that Candans drink and then name towns. =D

So I took this yesterday, and I think its the best pic I've taken of my baby girl and my bf. That's her kissy spot.

Lucky rat lol

I want something small and furry to be my pet instead of nothing

I couldn't stop at 3 - Android-18 - 06-12-2008

Get a rat!

I couldn't stop at 3 - Deo - 06-12-2008

I'll probably get something cheap, and easy to take care of. Are rats low maintenance?

I couldn't stop at 3 - Android-18 - 06-12-2008

Yeah, I feed mine dog food that's 15 bucks for a small-ish bag, noodles, and nuts. The combo lasts about a month, I feed them once a day, water once a day, clean once a week.

Bedding for a month costs around 32 a month.

So if you just got petstore food it might be cheaper, it would be like...53 dollars a month, or something like that.

Cage would have to be at least 3 levels, a chinchilla cage is what I use, it cost me 150-200, in that range, but likely could get used ones for cheaper. Hamocks and such aren't nessisary but they love them. You need 2 rats if you can't spend time with the rat every day. Two rats would be 20 bucks at a petstore, unless you find a breeder.

They're not that expensive to take care of, in my opinion. Compared to a dog or cat.

That sounds about what the cost of a Degu/pair of degus would be, not counting the cleaning dust.

I wonder if I could get a rat and a degu.

I couldn't stop at 3 - Android-18 - 06-12-2008

Hmm, I'm not sure if they would be compatiable, I can ask some pet-smart people I know if you want?

I couldn't stop at 3 - Deo - 06-12-2008

That'd be cool. I'm probably going to get one when my girlfriend comes down to visit. Maybe two. Something for her to play with and keep herself occupied with while I'm at work.

I couldn't stop at 3 - Android-18 - 06-12-2008

Ok, Rats are predators and can be agressive, so any any animal would be a bad idea. Also, I know from experience that it's best to get two rats that have been together from birth, or lived together for a while. My two girls don't get along.

That's the thing with rats, lol, they've got attitudes.

I couldn't stop at 3 - Saz - 06-12-2008

Get a cat.

I watched a cat playing the piano yesterday. Now tell me that's not the most awesome-st thing ever. Go on, tell me, I dare you.

I couldn't stop at 3 - Deo - 06-12-2008

My roommate has cat allergies.
