O, Computer Guru, Hear Me! - Orion - 06-29-2008 Bojack Wrote:On a slightly related note, my AVG keeps detecting some "Exploit" virus every now and then while I browse the forum. I had that issue a while ago too. It only came up on Chubbs, and it linked to some Temporary Internet Files. Use CCleaner (http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/) and try a reset. O, Computer Guru, Hear Me! - Bojack - 06-29-2008 I run CCleaner like every few days. Maybe it's the cookie involved with "Remember Me"? O, Computer Guru, Hear Me! - Orion - 06-29-2008 CCleaner should delete cookies too. O, Computer Guru, Hear Me! - Bojack - 06-29-2008 I know, Im saying that I run CCleaner and it keeps going. Could it be that I always check "Remember Me" when I login? That's the only thing I can think of. O, Computer Guru, Hear Me! - Orion - 06-30-2008 Try logging in without ticking that and see what it does. O, Computer Guru, Hear Me! - Bojack - 06-30-2008 same shiz i blame waffuru O, Computer Guru, Hear Me! - Bra - 07-10-2008 ...Well. I switched to a custom hosts file, got HostsMan and put the sites in question on my 'exclude' list, but no luck. Interestingly, though, I can access anything, just as long as I go through a proxy. ...WTF? I don't have a router. So obviously something's... uh, wrong. Hopefully this narrows it down some. I wish I could do more than just 'here's the problem.' I'm no tech guy. =( O, Computer Guru, Hear Me! - Waffuru - 07-10-2008 Bra Wrote:Interestingly, though, I can access anything, just as long as I go through a proxy. Could be your ISP blocking sites then. O, Computer Guru, Hear Me! - Bra - 07-11-2008 XD I suppose that means I've been up to terrorist activity. Alright, thanks, Waff. O, Computer Guru, Hear Me! - Bra - 07-12-2008 Ha. Ha. Ha. All my problem are gone because I switched to Firefox. ...Holy shit. O, Computer Guru, Hear Me! - Orion - 07-12-2008 AHAHAHAHAHA If there's ever an issue, go with a non-Microsoft equivalent. |
