I put it on par with the first movie. It was interesting, but the pacing was a bit too slow. I didn't feel as pulled into the movie as I did with the second one, which I would give an 8/10.

Now, bear in mind that I saw the second Paranormal Activity in a movie theater, and I saw the first and third on a laptop. I won't deny that I'm certain that had some adverse effect on my enjoyment of the films.

Saw all three in theaters. I think I'd put the first two at about 8.5/10 (couldn't decide between 8 or 9, they were legitimately creepy as fuck) and the third at 7/10. It was great, but you could definitely tell there were things being done specifically for the audience that were absolutely pointless in the context of the movie. There were quite a few things in this one that lead to a feeling of "just not quite what the others were", but even still, I was nervously shaking, literally, from adrenaline and anticipation for the entire movie, as with the other three. Straight up edge of seat.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2

7/10

While it was a fitting climax for a great film series, I feel that it's missing one crucial thing:
Why the fuck didn't Voldemort explode or something? His death was so anti-climactic
Have you READ the book?

Chicago: 8/10.

I don't usually watch musicals, but it was a hell of a lot of fun. My favorite song was Cell Block Tango.

Yes...but I'm talking about the movie. I feel like that part could have had more of an "OMG THEY BLEW UP THE DEATH STAR" vibe as opposed to a "Autumn leaves are falling" vibe.

Salt - 6/10 It was good but very predictable, I guessed the ending scenario at about halfway point and so did others who were watching it with me.

Moneyball - 8/10 I was expecting more baseball training scenarios so not seeing those but the character development was nice.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes - 9/10 It was solid and didn't disappoint compared to the original Ape movies that my Father got me hooked on. Ending was bleh

A-Team - 9/10 Its hard to follow the series but I felt they did it good justice the characters were matched up with good actors and I didn't see the OMGPLOTMINDFUCK thing coming to be honest.

Inception - 10/10 It was really solid, I was mind fucked myself at the start trying to figure out the rules of it and all but near the ending I figured what the opening scene was about just wasn't sure where they were going with it ending wise and was mildly with the outcome.

Social Network - 8/10 I liked the writing for the most part and the wit they sneaked in it, Justin Timberlake was annoying though, wish they had someone else play Sean Parker.

The Town - 9/10 I liked it, the love story seemed forced but outside of that I'm always a fan of elaborate heists and planning.

Green Hornet - 5/10 It was good visuals and few funny moments but just not something I could get hooked on.

Unstoppable - 10/10 I don't know why maybe it's my fascination with trains but this movie was insanely awesome and well written despite the basic plot of it than again I'm a huge Washington and Pine fan.

Only ones I can think of that I've seen in the last month.

Ugh The Grey.
It's like you're hoping for a resolution and the movie just slaps you in the face with its cock and then donkey punches you while you're confused.

Like, yeah, I get that the idea at the end is supposed to be that he finds the "will to live" or whatever. That's important, since he tried to kill himself before the accident and all. But that moment rings completely hollow because he's been trying to survive this entire time. Nothing about his behavior after the crash suggests a man that's suicidal - just stupid sometimes - so what the Hell?

Also, was I supposed to be surprised by the reveal that his wife died? No shit, movie. I saw that coming from the opening monologue. Do you think you're Inception or something? This isn't tricky to figure out.

Then there's this theological angle the movie tries to play up - one that's so much of an aside that you can miss it by going to the bathroom at the wrong time.

I just had a really hard time finding a coherent message in it. Especially with the ending. I guess if there's any message, it would be "don't pay attention to Liam Neeson," because he will lead you into the mouth of the danger he's trying to lead you away from.

It's weird, because OTHERWISE the movie is good. The acting is fine, Liam Neeson is great, and the tension and suspense is built up well (aside from some odd bullshit involving teleporting wolves). But no matter how well something is made, if it doesn't do what it's supposed to do it's still bad. You can have the most awesome action figure ever, infinitely pose-able, talks, fires rocket punches and shit, and that's great. However, if that toy can only shoot those rocket fists into your eye, you have to acknowledge that - no matter how well the toy is made - that it is technically a failure.

That's how I feel about The Grey.
I've heard very, very similar things about The Grey. It quickly went from pretty high on my "to-see" list to being something I probably wouldn't go out of my way, at all, to watch.

If it were on network TV and commercial free and I had nothing else to watch or no video game to play... I probably would. That's about how interested I am in it.

Sherlock Holmes 2: Get Holmesier was very enjoyable.

Was pretty decent. The slow-motion breakdown action bit was done maybe one time too many, but it totally paid off at the end.

Man that ending was fun.

Rear Window 1954 - 9/10

So being the big Alfred Hitchcock fan that I am, I have never actually watched this particular classic. So when I heard my local theatre was having this film as a feature I was fucking excited. I heard about Rear Window before and knew it was one of Hitchcock's best, and I thought that couldn't possibly happen because Vertigo is the shit. But after watching it, this is definitely in my top three of Alfred Hitchcock classics.

Jimmy Stewart gives his usual AMAZING performance, and everything was brilliantly photographed and edited. Obviously, being an Alfred Hitchcock the suspense and dark humor elements (as well as the obvious cameos) were all there. There were some great lines in that movie that had me legit rofling. Jimmy Stewart, definitely one of my favorite Hitchcock actors, performed with great nervous energy. I've come to find that he is probably the perfect Hitchcock actor. The plot was not as mind-blowing as Vertigo, but it was pretty damn awesome.

Highly recommend for any classic film lover, film student or Alfred Hitchcock fan.

PS: My girlfriend hated this movie, so that's great indication that it must've been a masterpiece.

Ghost Rider 2 5/10

Rate the Film You Just Saw (+ chat) - Kaden - 02-19-2012

Rear Window is a classic and something everyone should see at some point.

On the topic of Hitchcock, Rope is my favorite of his films. Any movie that takes place entirely in one room gets props from me. Extra props if it's actually good.

13 angry men technically takes place in two rooms (well, three), but still. Good movie.

A movie gets better the fewer rooms it has?

I agree.

The Room: 10/10.
