Questions? - Zarbon - 01-24-2006

I have a few questions...

Can we eat leaves? The human character, I mean.

How do you determine what we get after Rookie for digivolving? Champion, etc? As I noticed that alot of rookies have multiple digivolutions.

Questions? - Burter Jr - 01-24-2006

Uh, sure? o.o

A lot of things go into it. Hard to explain. Basically it all boils down to what we think will be the best choice for the digimon and character in question. We'll be sure to question people what they absolutely NOT want

Questions? - Zarbon - 01-24-2006

Thank you for the quick response. Now I can start writing. :o

Questions? - Bra - 01-24-2006

So, uh, the weapon thing?

Questions? - Burter Jr - 01-24-2006

If wouldn't give you any kind of advantage, it would just be for story purposes

Questions? - Banned Dana - 01-25-2006

Are all Digi-evolutions done during a battle or can they happen sparatically, mainly a question of, to be upgraded to Champion, must we be in a fight, or can it just simply happen while we are walking along?

Questions? - Burter Jr - 01-25-2006

It would have to be needed. Like they can't just randomly digivolve out of nowhere.

But it doesn't have to be in a fight. They could be doing it to save you from falling off a cliff, for example

The exception is a baby can digivolve anytime to in-training

Questions? - Hellfighter 17 - 01-25-2006

Is there ever going to be a time where a digimon will skip a digivolution? I think it happened in the show once or twice.

Also, is there ever going to be a time when our digimon will make an 'accidental' digivolution, like when Agumon went all Skullgreymon?

Questions? - Burter Jr - 01-25-2006

Yes, in the future. A long way into the future

Maybe

Questions? - Super Buu - 01-25-2006

HF, do you mean 'Warp' digivolving? Where, after getting a digivolution the first time, they could just zip right to their top form? Say, from Rookie, to Champion, to Ultimate, to Mega, in one transformation.
Edit: I guess so Tongue

Oh, and accidental digivolution if your Digimon is feeling overtly negative or something would be cool.

Questions? - Hellfighter 17 - 01-25-2006

I meant before they earned it, SB.

Questions? - Burter Jr - 01-25-2006

When people have mega forms we plan to introduce warp digivolving. But let's not get ahead of ourselves here

Questions? - Burter Jr - 01-25-2006

I'm too impatient ='(

Questions? - Super Buu - 01-25-2006

*Puts hand up*

1: Though I'm probably thinking way ahead, would anyone ever earn any 'permanent' higher digivolutions? Like in the series some Digimon stay as Champion, Ultimate etc. I probably wouldn't go in for it, but I can see it making sense with Gatomon or Pixiemon.

2: Once you've earned a higher form, can you transform into it at will out of battle, as long as you've got free energy? Say I wanted to cover some ground fast, so I got my Digimon to digivolve into Garurumon (assuming I had that already), jump on their back and went riding across wherever.

Questions? - Burter Jr - 01-25-2006

A player digimon will never stay above rookie permanetly. Even the smaller ones.

The more the digimon digivolves, the better they get at it. So someone who JUST turned Champion couldn't snap their fingers and do it. But someone who has a Mega digivolution could easily go up to Champion without thinking twice

Questions? - Android-18 - 01-25-2006

So even though in the show Gatomon stayed in her Champion form like all the time, they can't here? I don't care either way, just don't want to get yelled at if I do get her and do it.

Questions? - Reijin - 01-25-2006

I think Gatoman was an exception in that entire series. They broke a lot of rules for that one.

EDIT:
Sadly, I found my "Complete Digimon Character Guide" book for the show that I had many years ago today.... I might use it XD

Questions? - Hellfighter 17 - 01-25-2006

Gatomon was just cool. BTW, you guys are merely talking about the digidestined digimon, 'cause like every other digimon stayed in their form. o.o'

So, since Gatomon wa sin her champion state before she met up with her partner, no rules are really broken. =/ It would be stupid for her to revert to rookie all the time just because there's a digivice for her now.

Questions? - Burter Jr - 01-25-2006

You're okay, Hercule, you can still apply. I really just don't like the idea of that digimon in particular, but KV may disagree

Gatomon will not remain in her champion form like in the show. That's unfair to the other digimon who have to stay as a rookie. Gatmon will have to stay as Salamon, or Nyaromon

Questions? - Reijin - 01-25-2006

Ok, from what I remember, going on sheer memory... The reason that certain Digimon digivolve on their own without a digivice is due to generating a specific amount of energy within their body. They could, if they ate enough food, digivolve a level for it. But its like they have to actually grow with it, so they can't naturally digivolve to a massive level without a lot of power.

So certain ones would stay in a level due to basically having a routine going. The digidestined ones would revert to Rookie due to the fact that they had a very non-routine style going, and would eat a lot but also consume a LOT of their energy on a regular basis, which is why some of them would revert to their Training state sometimes.
