The scene in the jazz club was like amazing awesome.

I nearly creamed my pants when the opening credits started.
Venom had a surprisingly long amount of screen time. The movie was largely non-canon, but it kicked ass.
You will not be disappointed.

I'd say it was so-so on the awesome scale for me, but that's just my opinion. And yeah, I looked up the new movie on RottenTomatoes before I went to see the movie. I was shocked to see it got such a bad score, but I guess I can see why it was that low now.
