Custom Technique Approval - Sage - 09-07-2009 I might price it even higher. Sage has a remarkably similar technique to Uninhabitable Cold, which brings the temp down to about -60 celsius and covers... about a square mile. And that was worth... 50xp? But -60 celsius, while potentially fatal, is survivable. -150 fahrenheit would kill most people. I'm totally fine with the tech but I imagine it would have to cost more, even with the pp attachment. That said, I would like an admin to step in. I'm honestly unsure, and I'd rather not make a potentially unfair ruling. Custom Technique Approval - Sage - 09-07-2009 The Moon - 20xp Custom Technique Approval - Cain - 09-07-2009 Metal Fingers: With proper technique learned Cain is able to put a single finger through very hard surfaces. Able to not break a patio block, but put a finger through the center of it.** Story from the practitioner of Isshinryu style Okinawan karate. EDIT: Starting to see that more often. I wrote about a break room after your post, which hadn't been read yet. Our characters are also strikingly similar in theory if not in practice. Custom Technique Approval - Psyren - 09-08-2009 Psychokinetic Force- Using his Psychokinetic power he is able to release a invisible blast of mental energy. The blast erupts from the hand or hands and is capable of knocking a opponent off their feet. Custom Technique Approval - Rafael - 09-08-2009 Isn't that like, built in? I know I probably think a little liberally as far as what comes with an ability, but it seems a lot of people are nitpicking psycho into being continually less sweet on it's own. Staff knows better obviously, just sayin'. Custom Technique Approval - Vad - 09-08-2009 Well, he's trying to knock someone off their feet, which is a stun. It won't hit everytime though. Psychokinetic Force: 20 XP Custom Technique Approval - Sage - 09-08-2009 Yeah, Oriole, it's pretty much built in. If he wants to make a tech for it, that's his right, but he doesn't really need one. Custom Technique Approval - Alexander Trafford - 09-08-2009 With Psycho, i'm just worried that people will start getting upset if i don't purchase a tech for some stuff. There is so much room for interpretation and for creativity with Psycho that sometimes it seems borderline GMing or unfair, at least in my opinion, if i don't purchase a tech for it. Custom Technique Approval - Rafael - 09-08-2009 Eh, I'm kind of the opposite. Every time someone creates a psycho tech, I see it as limiting what any others with it can do, since if someone else purchased a tech for something like knocking someone over, can I not do it without also buying the tech, know what I mean? Custom Technique Approval - Sage - 09-08-2009 I'd say it's more of a 'best move' type idea. If you bought a 'force push' tech, it would be stronger than, say, Alex's equivalent off-the-cuff force push. The stuff that only a character who buys a tech could know are more complicated stuff. I can't think of anything for psycho, but I'm sure it's there. Alex has a lot of high-flavor techs, for instance, that not just anybody could do. Something generic as 'force push' or 'ki wave' or something can easily be replicated, just not as well, as a legit tech. If I'm making any sense. Custom Technique Approval - Psyren - 09-09-2009 Basically it works like this. Person A has psychokinesis and purchased the technique im creating. Person B just has psychokinesis Both players Launch their respective force puch technique. Because Person A hasa legitimate technique it means his force push is not only stronger but its more precise because it is a practiced and honed technique. Please correct me if im wrong. But my purpose for this technique was as vad stated earliar. And to build on my psychic fighter build by increaseing the strength of base techniques before moving on to stronger more powerful techniques i could be making. Basically im laying the groundwork and basics for much better technques later. Custom Technique Approval - Sage - 09-09-2009 Yeah, pretty much. Custom Technique Approval - Alexander Trafford - 09-09-2009 Now, my question is this: What if Alex and Addonexus were in a spar, or a fight, or whatever, and Addon has his force push as a psychokinetic technique, but Alex does not. During the fight they both simutaneously throw a force push, Addon's attack is stronger in the context of his own CA, but since there is such a discrepancy(sp?) in Alex's and Addon's CA, does it really matter that Addon's force push is a technique and Alex's is not? Would Addon's still win since it is a technique? Or would Alex's force push win because of the difference in CA? Custom Technique Approval - Rafael - 09-09-2009 and then toss stats in there. 0.o Custom Technique Approval - Kaden - 09-09-2009 The heart of Alex's question really gets into bigger things than we're ready to answer. There are overarching issues that need to be (and are being) answered. For right now, assume that Custom beats non-Custom. Custom Technique Approval - Tempo - 09-09-2009 Kung Fu Fighting - Using the energy reserves deep within Tempo’s body, the teen can manifest said ki around any body point. Coating his hands and feet in ki makes his punches and kicks all the more powerful and combining that with his Martial Arts prowess makes it a very nifty technique. The downside of the technique being that focusing ki on certain areas for long periods of time could be mentally and physically draining. Custom Technique Approval - Celena - 09-09-2009 10 xp. Custom Technique Approval - Cain - 09-09-2009 [quote=Cain]Metal Fingers: With proper technique learned Cain is able to put a single finger through very hard surfaces. Able to not break a patio block, but put a finger through the center of it.** Story from the founding practitioner of Isshinryu style Okinawan karate. Mark-Alteration- Mal uses the wind to slightly alter the pathways of energy attacks, usually in hopes of making a more precise attack |
