Extremely Important - Hellfighter 17 - 01-11-2007 Let's have the system before we try that or think about that. =) Extremely Important - Kirano - 01-11-2007 Krillin made a point which really hit me. Chubbs is just an rpg. All our techniques and power mean nothing outside of chubbs, so why not just RP to enjoy ourselves? Extremely Important - Kirano - 01-11-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Hercule It amuses me that you capitalized RP. I find it even more funny that you emphasized your statement with an explanation mark. I'm laughing at the irony. Has RP'ing on chubbs not turned you into a better writer? I know it has turned me, and some others into better ones. Extremely Important - Raditzu - 01-11-2007 For someone who thinks so little of Chubbs, I'm surprised you're still Herc. Extremely Important - Kirano - 01-11-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Hercule I take creative writing FYI, so the answer is no. And do not put words into my mouth. kthxbye. Extremely Important - Bra - 01-11-2007 Hercule, Bulma. Quit arguing with one another. Thanks! Extremely Important - Metal Koola - 01-11-2007 I'm sure this has been discussed, but when all ideas are worked through and figured out, you should have a 1 month testing period, where all old stuff is saved. Run through the "new" rpg for a month, if it sucks like woah, then just restore all the old stuff and pretend the "revamp" never even happened. Extremely Important - Uno - 01-11-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Krillin Approved! I agree with my metal counterpart. If we erase everything once we begin, and everyone is like "OMG WTF! w3 l1k t3h o1d 1 b3773r!!11!11!1 pu7 17 back!2!@#241`1`" you can't do anything about it. Extremely Important - Grandpa Gohan - 01-11-2007 Okay, but no matter how much planning staff does, something of this magnitude is going to have some kinks in it when its first implemented(the beta would be cool though). Some people arnt gunna like it at first, probably only because its unfamiliar. I trust that staff wouldnt make a half-assed system though. Extremely Important - Reijin - 01-11-2007 I suggested we run a test run already. Whether we do or not I can't say. Extremely Important - Vegeta - 01-11-2007 You're out of your mind if you don't think we'd have backups. Extremely Important - Burter - 01-11-2007 No Extremely Important - Burter - 01-11-2007 In the distant future, we very likely will be reformatting the entire website into a new, most custom-made, RPG. Until then, things proceed as normal Extremely Important - Mowgli - 01-11-2007 Edit: [growl]Burter![/growl] Extremely Important - Dantes - 01-12-2007 Anyways. When the time comes for the customs to take over the world, we should do one big quest or something with all the canon characters joining in. The farewell saga. Extremely Important - Raditzu - 01-12-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Android 16 But the canons might not be saying farewell. Dun dun duuuuuuun. Extremely Important - Old Zangya - 01-12-2007 Quote:Originally posted by RaditzuBut if they are, I like 16's idea
Extremely Important - Jewtastic - 01-12-2007 Hey guys. Since you are going to be doing the coding all fresh for the new system I recall something my team in apprentice did. Thank you guest 9 for reading the thread and making we want to again as well. Quote:Quote:On the main page of the site will be an option in the navigation bar that says "Login". This will allow the player to log into their character and give a more in-depth way of browsing the main site. The nav bar can then include a Personal Stats page, which will extract the player's personal stats, items, alliance affiliation, etc from the roster onto its own page. It will also automatically log the character into his/her training page once he/she is logged in. Rei, you said you loved the idea, so lets make it happen. Extremely Important - Broli - 01-12-2007 I think they just said that powerups wouldn't carry over, not that they would be nonexistant in the new form of the RPG. If anything, there will be far greater things to aspire for than we can already. Extremely Important - Yamu - 01-12-2007 Suggestion: Since some races such as Namakian and ?Pink Goo? start off with a technique in Sai Sai Regeneration and Androids have Dark Ki I have an idea. We develop a point system for the techniques giving the rare abilities like pyro, cryo, and fusion high values like a 10 and minor abilities like Ki Sense a 2. When you create a new custom character you get a certain number of points, which if you pick an Android or Goo you points might already be spent but a human custom gets to choose a single low level technique to start off with. The other effects from this would be two fold. When the switch happens, from what I?ve read of the ?Extremely Important? thread most techniques will carry over. Instead of the literal techs they will be translated into Ability Points that the player can redistribute on their custom. Maybe Bra?s new character would have a better fit using electricity instead of ice. The other effect would be in Saga?s instead of handing out techniques the Saga master would distribute APs as he or she saw fit. That way if a player felt like saving up they could wait and participate in multiple Saga?s and gain a better technique reward in return for their patience. I feel with the new direction of the site this AP system would also allow for a greater amount of customization for a player. If Staff wants I wouldn?t mind developing a ranking system and submitting it for approval if any one likes the idea, probably using the one Big Blue developed for rewards in Dante. |
