My worthless opinion? Buckethead thrashes Satriani any day of the week. Joe is good, he's damn good. He's probably one of the best technical guitar players of all time. Does he have the soul behind his music like a good Mississippi blues man? No way, not even close. He shreds his guitar, plays fast high and all sorts of crazy nonsense. It's awesome, but comes off feeling very produced and methodical. Buckethead does shit I've never ever heard before and don't know how he does the things he does. If you laid down a 12 bar blues I would put money on Buckethead having a far more interesting solo than Joe.
That being said, arguing on the internet is retarded but what Sparrow said sounded so retarded and grammatically damaged I had to say something.

As a guitarist, though, he's the most technically sound alive. Maybe even ever--even Hendrix's style was pretty unbridled in terms of technical ability with a guitar. More people would probably like him if he played on people's emotions with slower solos instead of burning their faces off with bursts of notes, but he didn't have to in order to win me over. Just, uh, my two cents.
