Well it adds an awesome depth to the movie. Before Avatar, I never saw a 3-D movie (that wasn't one of those cheap "let's see Superman save a plane that pops out of the screen" or "watch a murderer throw a pick-axe right at you" types), but I'm definitely converted. A lot of times, you feel like you are in the movie and it's amazing. They weren't kidding when they said it would be revolutionary.

I also didn't think Tobey did a bad job at playing Spidey. About the only person I absolutely, one-hundred percent hated in terms of casting was Topher Grace as Venom. Never mind the fact that his physicality was wrong (Venom was a beast), but he was just so completely lame I couldn't get over it. If I can take anything good out of the reboot, it's that maybe they'll get Venom right the second time around. Maybe they'll also follow the continuity of Gwen Stacy --> Mary Jane, instead of the other way around. That wasn't bothersome in the least, but her death was a big part of his character development.

Personally, I thought that Topher's Venom was a bit of just a different take on Brock. The problem is that his version strayed too far into Carnage territory - he was clearly portrayed as being a bit at the edge, although not pushed over it, whereas Venom was basically completely sane with just a symbiotic relationship.

I couldn't get past Topher as Venom, it simply didn't work for me. My image of Venom was built on the 89's cartoon and what few Spiderman comics I had read, and he was not some skinny punkass. He was a huge punkass who hated Peter Parker, and then the symbiote hated Parker and blah blah blah and Carnage in a movie would be AWESOME, and I thought the Green Goblin holding a cable car full of kids in one hand and Mary Jane in the other in the first film was a waste - that's where Gwen Stacy is supposed to die, Mary Jane has nothing to do with that particular scenario and causes Spiderman to despise Goblin even further and to come to certain realizations about being a hero. Now Spiderman 2 is one of the best superhero movies ever, but 3 was awful and all my feelings for it are shared by those who have posted before me so I don't need to repeat anything.

I'm also very tired so please forgive the lack of organization.

Uh, no. Venom was pretty far gone.

Carnage was more far gone but he's a serial killer. Venom is consumed by revenge and later as the symbiote corrupts him he gets worse. He's still restrained (stealing chocolate instead of eating brains), but he's not all there.

Am I the only person in the world who wasn't bothered by it at all?

It's a movie. Adaptations have to be made. Get over it.

I honestly lost what movie we were discussing.

I don't pay attention enough to know if this has been posted, so whatever:

This makes me...so very seethingly angry.

EDIT: In case I didn't make it clear, this is a hate.

Oh wow. This is why I fear for humanity if virtual reality ever gets invented. It's just incredibly unhealthy. People need to be able to separate fantasy from reality, and a lot of people have a hard enough time as it is. If you don't like the world we live in, fix it. Nobody's going to magically create a new one.

Damn Sad

And about those folks who are contemplating suey sides over a movie about giant smurfs who live on a blue version of planet Namek it makes me want to cry laugh and find them all and punch them in the pupil.

Hate my niece being sick, poor kid.

Hate that the semester is about to start and one professor is already telling students to drop the class if they don't show up with their books the first day...man fuck you!

Oh wow. Good for Olbermann.

EDIT: And then I see the Youtube video that says that Olbermann just used Haiti to attack conservatives. Just when somebody stands up and says something worthwhile, somebody else comes and makes me hate people again.

The Like/Hate Thread - Kaden - 01-14-2010

That you manage to stop hating people for any length of time is... hmmm... I guess I'll call it impressive.

The Like/Hate Thread - Rem-13 - 01-14-2010

Any insulting rant a person gives to another, deserved or not, that begins with 'sir' annoys me to the point I disregard everything said. Obviously this makes me not to much of a fan of Olbermann.
