Jacob Wrote:"Conservatives beat back multiple attempts to include hip-hop as an example of a significant cultural movement." This I like. The rest is pretty stupid and I can't wait to rub my ex's face in it.

Hip-hop is a significant cultural movement though.

Some of it I can see, several artists and songs of the 80's and 90's but the rest...hells no. I wouldn't want my kid coming home going 'Yah trick yah' or some shit.

Also fuck me for messing myself up. OMG I hate myself so much right now.

Hate: So I'm home alone in Waffuru's house, and I hear this weird beeping noise. I spend a WHOLE HOUR trying to figure out where this god damn noise is coming from. It turns out the fridge door was open.

/facepalm

I hate that I have my alarm set for 12, and i wake up at 11:30 to a text from my boss saying i should come in at 12 instead of 1, so i have to get ready super fast.

An individual's opinion of a specific genre is largely irrelevant to it's impact as a "movement" (in this case). There's no denying the influence that the hip-hop subculture has had over the last twenty years.

Some of it is music, but it extends far beyond that. Clothing, cars, personal accessories and physical mannerisms are all things that people have adopted as a result of said movement.

I agree with you, most hip-hop is nothing more than worthless verbal-diarrhea, but I'm not about to say that it hasn't impacted our culture in a significant way.
