Mass Effect 1/2 - Kaden - 01-05-2010 Either Soldier or Vanguard. Vanguard might be a little squishy for you in the first half of the game, but Biotics are probably your thing. Soldiers are just impossible to kill. Mass Effect 1/2 - Kaden - 01-26-2010 Since the game comes out pretty soon, I figured I'd start some talk about it. I'm about 24 hours in playing as a Vanguard. Their "Charge" biotic is absolutely hilarious, and makes the class way more fun to play than it was in the last game. Shotguns seem better overall as well. I really like the ammo powers. Vanguards get burning and freezing ammo (forgot the actual names) and they're fun to have. As an fyi, you eventually unlock a "respec" that you can purchase, so it's not the end of the world if you put points into a power that you don't really like (I'm looking at you, Shockwave). Was able to import my ME1 character and, I have to say, I like the efforts they went through to integrate the two games. It's kinda cool to have an NPC from the last game run up and give you a quest. Most of it is relatively minor stuff like that, but it's still a nice touch considering they could have saved themselves a lot of time and effort and not do it. Mass Effect 1/2 - Vad - 01-26-2010 I am thoroughly enjoying the clipped ammo system instead of the unlimited "don't over heat the gun" type ammo system. I found the ability to move from cover a lot easier and more effective. Over all I love it. Playing as a Soldier again. I'm contemplating keeping Liara or going after Miranda though. Mass Effect 1/2 - Belle Hibiki - 01-26-2010 If you start a new game in ME2, do you start at level 1? Because Boo-urns if so. My ME1 games are on my X-Box, and I'm getting ME2 for the PC. Mass Effect 1/2 - Vad - 01-26-2010 Even if you import, you start at level 1, so you're level 1 either way. It was kind of stupid that in the last game you could make it pretty much impossible to overheat a gun. At one point I even had a sniper rifle that I could fire nonstop for about a minute before it overheated. And yes, if you import you start at level 1. You're also not forced to be the same class as you were in ME1 if you import, though that isn't as big a deal; enough of the mechanics were changed that even the same class feels like something new. In a good way. Mass Effect 1/2 - Jesper - 01-26-2010
Miranda's such a bitch
Anyway, we just got our hands on this now. Wifey's playing it, though, so I don't have a lot of first-hand experience with the controls. Nothing really jumps out as "bad" to me yet. EDIT: I like that Martin Sheen and Stephen Blum voice in this. I was happy. Mass Effect 1/2 - Belle Hibiki - 01-26-2010 Getting ME1 for the PC because apparently the not-imported character made fucking AWFUL choices. Mass Effect 1/2 - Vad - 01-26-2010 Sophia Wrote:
Miranda's such a bitch
Yeah...she's replacing Liara. Mmmmmm. Martin Sheen FTW EDIT: Nvm Belle Hibiki Wrote:Getting ME1 for the PC because apparently the not-imported character made fucking AWFUL choices. Get someone to send you a PC save game if you really want to dive into ME2 now. Kaden Wrote:I'm not a huge fan of it, to be honest, but I think it was a good move. As for the sniper rifle thing: WTF! =/ I could only get 1 shot off; 2 if I timed it right. Mass Effect 1/2 - Belle Hibiki - 01-27-2010 I'd be tempted, but aren't I stuck with the looks? Or does a previous save only affect choices and starting levels? If the latter, I'd need a female that: - Was in a relationship with Liara - Saved the Council - Saved Wrex - And I don't care about much anything else. Mass Effect 1/2 - Super Buu - 01-27-2010 http://www.annakie.com/me/home.htm You can change your character's appearance from the first time around. Stuck with the name, not that it matters much. Mass Effect 1/2 - Belle Hibiki - 01-27-2010 I also heard you can change the name, which would be nice. Aside: I played ME1 with disregard for heat... Pretty much because as soon as I could get explosive rounds, I slapped those into a shotgun kitted out for damage and rapetrained everything. One shotting mobs and sending them flying into the air is/was hilarity at its best. Mass Effect 1/2 - Belle Hibiki - 01-27-2010 I'm going to miss Singularity on my Vanguard. Le sigh. Mass Effect 1/2 - Rafael - 01-27-2010 The 2nd one's out already? I haven't even gotten around to finishing the 1st...*grumble* and yeah,my sniper rifle overheats in one shot. explosive ammo+2 max level whatever rails=awesome Mass Effect 1/2 - Orion - 01-27-2010 Must buy game. Mass Effect 1/2 - Sage - 01-27-2010 The specter prototype weps were broken as fuck. I pre-ordered ME2 and have not yet gotten a call back about it. Hrm... Mass Effect 1/2 - Super Buu - 01-27-2010 It comes out friday here :| Mass Effect 1/2 - Vad - 01-27-2010 Reaction to Story Thus Far: Holy fuck. Mass Effect 1/2 - Waffuru - 01-27-2010 Just finished the game. Happy to see New Game+ and when you start a new game with cleared data you start with huge bonus piles of shit and you get a bonus power for loyalty achievements (guessing it doesn't stack with the research that does the same thing).
