Just as a side note, my character is classified as reptillian also. I think someone said Zabon is getting lumped into that category as well.

That was just an example. Zarbon, and you for that matter, don't HAVE to be reptilians. You can be generic if you'd rather

Powerups - Aqua - 04-13-2007

I mean, Aqua is technically more fish than reptillian but I don't have a problem with him falling under the reptillian classification. Personally, I thought being a "nontransformer" was kind of lame and generic seems parallel to that so I'll take the non-nameless race for 300 please Alex.

Powerups - Reijin - 04-13-2007

Consider yourself something like "Aquarian" or something, but one that falls under the Reptile class.

Powerups - Grandpa Gohan - 04-13-2007

So.. Once we "buy" a powerup, we cant buy a differant one until said one is max'd out?

Powerups - Burter - 04-13-2007

I'm not 100% sure, but I highly doubt it. I see absolutely no reason you can't have all the power-ups at rank D

That's never been said. Buy the next rank when you damn well feel like it.

Powerups - Aqua - 04-13-2007

So it can work like a genus/ species type deal where my genus is reptile but my species is Aqua-jin?

Powerups - Burter - 04-13-2007

You mean, like "Aqua-jin" is a category of Reptilian? I'm okay with that

Powerups - Aqua - 04-13-2007

Yeah, genus is the broader classification. So like feline (felis) is a genus, and a cat (domestica) is a specieis. In this case the Genus is reptillian, Aqua-jin is a species.

So it would read all scientifically as Reptillus Aqua... or something like that. But I think you get what I'm saying and did before this post anyway so meh...

Powerups - Reijin - 04-13-2007

In much the same way that "Shisteka" are a race of Reptiles. For our classification, mechanically, there would be no difference, but flavor and writing wise, we'd add in how the species are actually different and all.

Similar could be said that a Humanoid category could contain Humans, Tsufuru-jin, and Saiyans, but for the sake of game mechanics again, we've chosen to forgo that option.

Andriods involve Cyborgs and such as well.

Powerups - Burter - 04-13-2007

Like a lizard is a reptile, an Aquajin could be a Reptilian.

Right.

So, in a fight, would you have to 'progress' through the powerup tiers or could you skip?

Also, would their be 'energy penalties' (like, you used up a lot of ki staying in this form so long) that would keep you from going from one tier to another? Like if you stayed in SSJ tier 1 for pretty much the whole fight, would you be too weak to go to tier 2 towards the end?

You do not have to progress through each tier. When you transform, you use the highest tier you have of the given transformation.

Powerups - OldZorn - 04-14-2007

So I as a Saiyan (which I will be keeping) can go straight to saving for a S Class SSJ and skip Giji and Oosaru? Also will there be more powerups as the rpg goes on?

Also what about Kaio-Ken? Will it still be a option to train under King Kia and get it once you die?

Powerups - Vegeta - 04-14-2007

To get S Rank SSJ you have to get C, B, and A. You can't skip lower ranks.

But no, you don't have to take Giji or Oosaru to take SSJ.

Powerups - Burter - 04-14-2007

We haven't decided what to do with Kaioken yet

What if you don't want to use the highest rank - like to avoid Bright Ki effect? You're not allowed to choose a lower rank voluntarily?

Powerups - Burter - 04-14-2007

Yes, you can. Logically, some people may not wish to go full power, like Goku deliberately held his power off in the show when he fought Majin Vegeta

Hmm....
I like it the way it is now. Except Non-Transformers already get the more powerful Transformations, and Super Kaioken is, based on the show, a Saiyan move....you know where I'm going. =D

EDIT: And the first person to say "This isn't the Show, It's Chubbs"
Gets Hurt.

That's what I meant a few posts back.
