Random Image Thread - Jack - 08-11-2009 Orion Wrote: Were they insane? Hard drives don't even cost that much today, back then 3000 must have been like 1/3 of someones yearly income. Random Image Thread - Super Buu - 08-11-2009 We laugh now, but our current adverts will look exactly as hilarious in the future. Especially the graphics card ones with their EXTREME TURBO-POWERED GAMING taglines. Random Image Thread - Jack - 08-11-2009 No computer component costs $3,300. I agree our shit will be madd outdated, but that price is insane. EDIT: 10 Megabytes? I thought that said 10 gigs. This has to be a joke. Random Image Thread - Waffuru - 08-11-2009 That's legit. Computers were reserved for business use only. It's not like there was anything else you could do on them really. Random Image Thread - Josh - 08-11-2009 Waffuru Wrote:That's legit. Not only that, but 10 megabytes was huge back then. Computers have drastically increased the rate of technological advancement in human society. Random Image Thread - Deo - 08-11-2009
Random Image Thread - Josh - 08-12-2009 ![]() ![]() ![]() OH YEAH!! Random Image Thread - Celena - 08-12-2009 I love the Kool-Aid Man. Random Image Thread - Orion - 08-12-2009 Bil Baer Jaxx Wrote:No computer component costs $3,300. Yeah, it's real. It only looks insane because computers are incredibly cheap these days. Random Image Thread - Sage - 08-12-2009 *Nod* Remember when DVD players cost over a grand? You can get one now for like ten bucks. =/ Cost of technology is reverse-inflative. Be very thankful for that. Random Image Thread - Vad - 08-12-2009 Sage Wrote:*Nod* Isn't that the case with most of anything that goes into mass production? Random Image Thread - Josh - 08-12-2009 Vad Wrote:Isn't that the case with most of anything that goes into mass production? No most drugs and medical technology gets more expensive. Random Image Thread - Jack - 08-12-2009 When did DVD players cost over a grand? O_o Random Image Thread - Rem-13 - 08-12-2009 You will be saying the same about bluray eventually. Random Image Thread - Orion - 08-12-2009 Bil Baer Jaxx Wrote:When did DVD players cost over a grand? O_o When they first came out. Then they dropped price, then DVD players that could 'tape' TV were over a grand, and I'm pretty sure HD-DVD/Bluray started out that way too. I can remember in '01 or '02 when I was still in high school, a mate of mine had one of the very first MP3 players. It held, at maximum, about seven songs and cost over $400. Random Image Thread - Vad - 08-13-2009 That's awesome Deo, btw. Biggest fire I had in the Sims 3. Killed 3 people.
Random Image Thread - Kazuya - 08-13-2009 haha good job, vad. You'll be pro in no time. |
