After I told her to use ranged weapons she stayed the hell out of my way. To the Shelter! - Sage - 11-14-2008 I'm gonna be evil next game. Super evil. To the Shelter! - Super Buu - 11-22-2008 I got this the other day at last, it's hella fun. I never got into Oblivion because I thought the whole character building system was a steaming dung pile, but this is pretty sweet. The scavenging feels authentic, since I root through everything looking for the low weight, high price items like cigarettes, drugs and alcohol. I find it amusingly accurate that, like today's prisons, those still seem to be the most valuable commodities. I've had no problems with finding food and water though, those seem to be everywhere. Ammo, on the other hand, has been verrrry scarce. I pretty much don't bother firing until they're up close, so I can VATS them to death with high percentages and less ammo used. I decided to model my guy as having "ultimately selfless goals, but doesn't care what it takes to achieve them". Been fairly fun so far, as I still get to lie and manipulate if it looks to be for a good purpose. To the Shelter! - Waffuru - 11-22-2008 Maybe Spoiler? ==highlight to read== I was really annoyed at the ending when I had Fawkes the mostly human Super Mutant who just earlier shows you how little he cares about radiation when he grabs that geck and they're all like "the radiation in the purifier would kill anyone!" I really just wanted to send the stupid ugly mutant in, and hey, maybe he would have lived. But alas, not an option. anyways, this game is overall excellent. To the Shelter! - Sage - 11-22-2008 I agree, Luftwaffle. That pissed me off a great deal. To the Shelter! - Super Buu - 11-23-2008 I'm having a serious moral dilemma with the ghoul quest, but after much debating, I've made a decision that I'm happy with. Both the humans and ghouls are dicks, so I'll just kill them all save for the cool ones like Dashwood. This way, there's no evil left! My solutions make everybody happy. I should totally be president of the wastes. To the Shelter! - Super Buu - 12-03-2008 Man I bin playin dis shit every day but I've still only scratched the surface. Level 13 now, still haven't even been to Rivet City or any of the other vaults. I have got GNR back up though, saved Big Town and explored a bunch of places. I also have over 5000 caps =D What were your favourite companions? I just got Charon. To the Shelter! - Kaden - 12-03-2008 I hated having a companion. They just got in the way. To the Shelter! - Super Buu - 12-04-2008 I made Dogmeat stay at my Megaton house eventually because he constantly gave my presence away. But the humanoid companions who can sneak aren't quite as bad. I wish they had made the AI better though, it would have been as simple as something like the pet stances in WoW - passive, defensive, aggressive. To the Shelter! - Belle Hibiki - 12-04-2008 Super Buu Wrote:I made Dogmeat stay at my Megaton house eventually because he constantly gave my presence away. Same, except replace 'house' with 'Vault 101' because I didn't have the house at the time. After I got it, I didn't bother going back for him because 1) the stealth-ruining asshole had given me one too many workouts of the quickload key and 2) I already have enough of an issue maneuvering around that stupid butler droid. Seriously, does he need to stand in the doorway every time I zone in? And yes, you fucker, I look like I'm wounded. That's why I'm here. To the Shelter! - Sage - 12-04-2008 Fawkes. She can't sneak, but you don't need to once you have Fawkes. To the Shelter! - Super Buu - 12-05-2008 Best outcome for the android quest is both rewards. After getting the +10% on VATS perk I promptly shot the guy who gave it to me. Mwahahaha. And after having the quest for like 20 hours of playtime, I finally completed Blood Ties and found out the Wasteland is much worse than I had ever imagined. I mean, I knew the place was fucked up, but vampire cosplayers? Don't give me that "I can't help it" crap Vance, that's what all the furries say to justify their weirdness. Drinking people's blood is not somehow better than just being a straight up cannibal. I killed that deluded creep for the good of the Wasteland. Take note, Max, this is what happens when you get too obsessed with vampires. To the Shelter! - Sage - 12-05-2008 XD. I helped him out. <.< To the Shelter! - Super Buu - 12-05-2008 I was tempted, too, because the blood pack perk is nice. But then he started going on about how his kind are 'unfairly persecuted', calling me slow when I asked him to clarify his vague notions, and I was like 'Max'? There's a difference between having something you can't help (ghouls, disabilities) and wanting to be respected the same as everyone else, and making a conscious decision (I'm gonna be a vampire/furry!) and wanting to be respected the same as everyone else. Ian seemed to be the genuine deal, what with his blackouts. But most of them just seemed to be looking for a badass gang to be a part of, and Vance was just deluded. SO AH KEELED THOSE MOTHAS To the Shelter! - Sage - 12-05-2008 They have some kind of genetic mutation as a result of radiation exposure. They actually can't help it. :p But Vance is a gigantic prick about it. To the Shelter! - Super Buu - 12-05-2008 Did they ever explain that? Vance was very vague about the whole thing. To the Shelter! - Sage - 12-06-2008 *S.P.O.I.L.E.R.S.* Yep. A Fallout staple is to piece together information yourself. Holotapes, or trying to figure out what's true given four or five different word-of-mouth accounts, etc. It's not done as well in FO3, but the earlier titles were heavy on it. In any case, they are not actually vampires but have, for some reason, developed an instinctual cannibalism. Vance, for some reason, felt it would be best to use the established vampire 'chic', since vampires are typically feared rather than just disgusted like a flesh-eater would be. Essentially it was mostly a psychological thing, I guess both to cultivate a sense of worth and to ensure those outside the group came to fear them for safety reasons. Luckily, blood alone is sufficient for them. Apparently. This works out well for you if you decide to broker a deal with them. Or you can just murder all of them, that's fine with me, too. To the Shelter! - Dr. Cringle - 12-09-2008 So Greg murdered a bunch of disabled people? BOOOO GREGGGG. D= To the Shelter! - Super Buu - 12-09-2008 Pfft, I'll believe it when I see it. I do get the piecing-together story though, Metroid does a similar thing and I like it. To the Shelter! - Juno - 01-01-2009 I rented the game the other day and I love it. I've tried out a few different characters and now I think I'm going to create my main one and play through. =] |
