Because it's more fun to have PCs to interact with. You don't get to make a break alliances with an NPC. There's no strategy in a ten-person battle royale.

Well, like you've shown, we only have 38 members, probable only 25 or so, are semi-active roleplayers. It's gonna be tough getting players to join.
If you're THAT desperate for people to sign up, I might be able to find the time to throw a roleplay in here and there with Sazuaa, just to pick up the numbers. I mean I haven't roleplayed, or had the urge to roleplay for longer than I can remember, and to be honest I can't remember where I left off with my character, nor do I really care. But if I wouldn't have to mess around with all the stats, or icky stuff like that, I would definately consider joining.

The best way I can describe it is that DA isn't just a saga, it's THE big one around these parts. DA of years past have been the most anticipated and very often best reads we get around here all year, if we were going to have a half ass version it'd tarnish the image and legacy that this event has built up.
BTW, the last time you rp'ed was DA '07 Saz, ironically enough. I keep tabs on you

A large contribution to DA's success as a saga, however, and how its been since even before Burter took it to his wing, is the fact that unlike all other sagas it is able to run annually as a strong tournament. This is how it was originally concepted years ago and was the most popular style of tournament event we've run, although there have been several other brackets.
Its just not possible though to run an annual version of Calculating Catastrophe. Sagas are possible to have sequels, but most are not able to be a constant occurance.

Calculating Catastrophe cannot possibly be done annually. It's a plot driven saga that will eventually be resolved. DA can, logically, be run over and over again, as it is a tournament run by an entertainment industry. Although I do appreciate the sentiment.
