[Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Reijin - 07-22-2008 I never knew of Ra's from the comics, tbh. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Tobias - 07-22-2008 I dont think I ever read a Comic with Ra's in it, but I do remember him in TAS. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Zangya - 07-22-2008 Tobias Wrote:I dont think I ever read a Comic with Ra's in it, but I do remember him in TAS.. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Reijin - 07-22-2008 Figured it out; who the villian likely is in the next movie. They killed Rachael Dawes. Obviously this is a lead in to Catwoman. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Bujin - 07-22-2008 Reijin Wrote:Figured it out; who the villian likely is in the next movie. They killed Rachael Dawes. Obviously this is a lead in to Catwoman. Out of the...five (?) Catwomans, none of them have been very good. And that's going back to the Adam West days. If you're right, I hope she's decent. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Warako - 07-22-2008 Nolan series Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins and The Dark Knight is a reboot of the Batman films, having no ties to the Burton/Schumacher series and is set during Batman's early era. Prior to the release of The Dark Knight in 2008, David Goyer ruled out using The Penguin or Catwoman as a villain in a future film, preferring to use antagonists from the comics that have not yet been portrayed on the big screen. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Reijin - 07-22-2008 And yet we've seen two villians from previous "big screen" adaptations already. Catwoman doesn't necessarily have to be a primary villian either, but I will not believe that Selena Kyle (and at least a hook to build her story with in the future) will not appear at some point. She's too big of a character in Batman's story, much like the Joker himself, to the point that I could see her as a recurring character. So while he may have said that, I don't believe it will be stuck to, not if it leads to a better story. I'm also not saying he SHOULD do certain people, as I don't want to see "the easy route" to a story, but if it makes sense, I don't think he will limit himself by dancing around it so obviously either. In this situation, the character is the perfect way to show Bruce trying to come to grips with his loss while fighting himself. As far as Penguin goes, he could easily be in or out, given the way the story looks. I'm not as fond on him however. He's someone who's kinda hit or miss if done right, but I have no real qualms as he isn't "that important" to me like Selena Kyle is. EDIT: I didn't mind Michelle's version of Catwoman, to be honest. We shall not acknowledge Hallie Berry. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Bojack - 07-22-2008 With Dent dead, Batman an outcast, and that Korean guy <insert his fate here>, we will most likely see a crime boss rise to power. And a lot of more small time crime too, ie JEWEL THIEVES. And Rachel is dead, so we need a new romance. I'm guessing a Black Mask/Catwoman combination. You guys think we will see a Robin any time soon? [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Nappa - 07-22-2008 No. No Robin ever. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Reijin - 07-22-2008 Nappa Wrote:No.^ [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Zangya - 07-22-2008 Y'know, with the integration of Ra's into the Nolan Gotham continuation, it could also be a lead-in for Talia, Reijin. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Bojack - 07-22-2008 stfu We're going to see some type of "heir to the throne" kind of thing, it just depends on in what capacity. With ALL of Gotham on Batman's ass, I doubt he's gonna be as active. Expect some kind of attempt to take his place. Maybe just mentions of more vigilantes throughout the city, or a major character like Robin. Also expect a new big time crime dude, like Black Mask. Expect Catwoman or Ra's' daughter, maybe even the return of Ra's himself. I just hope they don't go the route that Spiderman 3 did and try to stuff a new character into every crack and fuck up the whole movie. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Zangya - 07-22-2008 Bojack Wrote:maybe even the return of Ra's himself.No. Just no. I like Liam Neeson, but villains are not his strong suit [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Bojack - 07-22-2008 I have to rewatch the movie, but I'm pretty sure you just failed right there. And what's your Robin theory? [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Zangya - 07-22-2008 Basically it involved setting him up in 3 for a possible sidekick role in 4. As in, have Dick Grayson (or whichever incarnation they use) be in 3 as this kid who gets orphaned and maybe Bruce goes all Angelina Jolie and adopts. But give him a whole movie to develop the character before tossing the kid in tights. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Burter - 07-22-2008 I would like to see Robin eventually because I think two (or three) movies with Batman flying solo is really long enough without a change in the line-up. However, Robin's story revolves around Two-Face killing his family, so Harvey will have to come back unless they want to completely change his background With that said, I think I would rather see Robin as a background character for a third movie and then come into full light in a fourth. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Bojack - 07-22-2008 I don't want to see an adopted Robin. I want to see a (late teens - early twenties) Robin that goes costumed vigilante when Batman falls off. Kind of like a copycat killer sort of thing, only he's not a killer. Obviously. If they do some teenage orphan Robin that lives with Bruce, given the type of character Bruce is in these movies at that, then I'll be extremely distraught. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Burter - 07-22-2008 I don't want them to change anything too serious from the comics. Not to say I want them to follow it perfectly, but I don't like the idea of completely changing Robin's backstory. His family still needs to be owned by a villain during the circius [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Zangya - 07-22-2008 Mmmhmm. I still don't know if Harvey is truly dead, and if not, movie three would be perfect to bring Dick Grayson in. Somehow, Dent would discover Batman's identity and come back to the dressing room if Bruce is, like, telling them how great they were b/c he was impressed by their son's acrobatic abilities or some crap and then BANGBANG Mommy and Daddy Robin are dead and Bruce and Dick have got to shimmy out of there. I always think Robin is a cool character if he's done right. Which so far has only been done in TAS. [Spoilers!] Dark Knight - Bojack - 07-22-2008 No. Harvey Dent is dead. Accept it, people. |
