The Like/Hate Thread - Piper Juunanagou - 03-18-2011 SO COOL The Like/Hate Thread - Dr. Cringle - 03-18-2011 OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEWWWW The Like/Hate Thread - Ashe - 03-18-2011 I really hate having to wait for Black Death to come out on DVD to watch it. Looks really interesting regarding the setting (1300's during the Bubonic Plague, knights and crusaders huzzah!) and theme. Unfortunately, it released a week ago and when we went to see it, we found out that it wasn't going to be shown anywhere locally. I know that is at least 50 miles from me according to my phone, but I'm guessing most of the south east given the topic. In other news, I did enjoy Battle: Los Angeles as my back up movie. I can grab it through Time Warner's New Release service. =P The Like/Hate Thread - Dr. Cringle - 03-18-2011 Like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rW6M8D41ZWU The Like/Hate Thread - Milk Bubble - 03-19-2011 Like: NCsoft donating the money you give to them to play their games to the people of Japan to help with the relief effort. http://na.aiononline.com/board/notices/view?articleID=537&page= I'm so glad I just bought a month of Aion. I now know paying to waste my time all day playing a video game might actually help with something for once. The Like/Hate Thread - Belle Hibiki - 03-19-2011 Like: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Again. Why? ![]() Fuck you that's why The Like/Hate Thread - Rafael - 03-19-2011 Is she fighting on a giant cake? If so, that's awesome The Like/Hate Thread - Belle Hibiki - 03-19-2011 Yes indeed. Also The only thing I hate more that arrogant religious preachers telling me that I should believe and how their God is the only one that exists, are arrogant atheists telling me God doesn't. None of them know. We're only just beginning to scratch the surface on the origin of our particular universe, nevermind the beginning of existence itself. Absolute statements like that piss me off. If you don't believe there's a God, that's fine. Just realize that saying 'there is no God' is as much of a statement of faith as any. When I see some atheist pundit looking down his nose at people just because they hold a belief that differs from his, I have to fight to keep from exploding from the irony. The Like/Hate Thread - Tyr - 03-19-2011 If there was a like button on your post Belle, I'd like it even though I never use my Facebook for anything but Tetris. That's a personal pet-peeve of mine, too. I don't want anyone telling me that their beliefs are the only right ones. I don't care if they're talking about the Jesus, Allah, Zeus, or none of the above. Unless I specifically ask for your shit to be shoveled into my mouth, keep it to yourself. The Like/Hate Thread - Vad - 03-19-2011 Kaden Wrote:That's a personal pet-peeve of mine, too. Agreed. The Like/Hate Thread - Waffuru - 03-19-2011 I'd prefer it if people just kept their beliefs to themselves for the most part (do they need me to validate it?) and just be cool. It really only bothers me when people try to pass laws based on their religious belief. also, pic mostly unrelated;
The Like/Hate Thread - Jonathan Meer - 03-20-2011 Eight-year-olds, dude The Like/Hate Thread - Kaden - 03-20-2011 Waffuru Wrote:It really only bothers me when people try to pass laws based on their religious belief. What bothers me more is when religion gets dragged into decision making when it never had anything to do with it in any way. That's what happens quite often. In order to create drama or backlash, someone will say "omg he went to church three sundays ago, so he clearly is trying to force us to love jesus." It's the definition of both politics and retardation. That said, I still agree with Waff. Making policies to advance a religious agenda is very frustrating. I just think it sounds like it's happening more than it actually is. The Like/Hate Thread - Orion - 03-20-2011 Kaden Wrote:I just think it sounds like it's happening more than it actually is. I'm pretty certain that's true. I think it's more prevalent in America, but I think the worst (and most recent) was the creation myth being taught as science. The Like/Hate Thread - Jarka - 03-20-2011 Like: When lawmakers keep their rosaries away from my ovaries. Hate: The fact that this doesn't automatically happen, despite the establishment clause and court precedents. The Like/Hate Thread - Alexander Trafford - 03-20-2011 I've always viewed abortion more as a legal issue than a religious issue. I don't really see religion in the subject at all. Is it murder, and thus illegal, or is it not? And that just breaks down to at what point you believe a fetus is a living human being. Of course I understand why people do. The Bible discusses sanctity of human life and murder as the greatest sin, so naturally it can be used in the abortion debate. But I could find those two topics in some preteen novellas purchasable at Target, that doesn't mean they should be brought into the debate. People use religion because it's powerful and it's so damn easy. |
