Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Burter - 06-10-2008 I don't have a set time for the finale. It will be when I feel like we have hit a stalemate. Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Reijin - 06-10-2008 Burter Wrote:I don't have a set time for the finale. It will be when I feel like we have hit a stalemate. That wasn't at all what I meant. I am fairly sure that you wording it this way specifically so as to address the question but not answer something you don't wish to answer, but just to make sure what I mean is this: Bardock gets into a fight and goes tier 2, thus netting a 48 hour cooldown. Let's say he somehow kills four people in the confrontation. This cuts us down to X amount of people and you say "Hey, looks like a good time for a finale." Usually you then post a thread leading to it to get our roleplays for that one up, in the same format as normal days but with used more as a forewarning. Well, that means that Bardock would be going into the finals in 24 hours with still having 24 hours left on his cooldown due to simple random bad timing. I'm just curious as to what happens there. Is Bardock going to be considered fresh in that situation or is he going to be seen as "Sorry, you are tired, just how it goes"? Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Burter - 06-10-2008 Hm...I would like to say cooldowns do not effect the finale, but I know that may not be totally fair to others. What do you all think? Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Android-18 - 06-10-2008 I'd be biased to say make them count, considering I'm not tired right now. But damn, if I was I'd say don't make them count. So... It's up to you. Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Zangya - 06-10-2008 It's their fault for using the powerup and getting a cooldown before the finale. Punish them for it. EDIT: Not meant to be rude, of course. This is a biased opinion. Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Uno - 06-10-2008 Zangya Wrote:It's their fault for using the powerup and getting a cooldown before the finale. Punish them for it. But they don't know when the finale is going to happen. Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Zangya - 06-10-2008 I think they have a pretty good idea when we're down to what, twelve people? Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Violet - 06-10-2008 reset cooldowns once the finale hits? Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Bardock - 06-10-2008 I can't offer my opinion from an objective point of view, therefore I won't. Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Burter - 06-10-2008 Yea...that was my concern Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Raditzu - 06-10-2008 Uno Wrote:But they don't know when the finale is going to happen. For that reason, I'd say fatigue should be wiped. Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Reijin - 06-10-2008 Raditzu Wrote:For that reason, I'd say fatigue should be wiped. That's my stance. You are saying "punish them for it" but what if someone else randomly runs into us and we get a forced powerup right before the fight that we didn't plan on. The other guy dies, but we are on a tier 2 cooldown with only 24 hours of sudden finale warning. It basically means "good game" right there. Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Hellfighter 17 - 06-10-2008 It's just like any other fight. What if while Rad and Eighteen were on cool down two people with x20s came in and killed them? I say leave cooldown in. the whole point of cooldown, as I see it, and Burter can correct me on this, is to make people more strategic with it and not always bust it out, and give those with lesser powerups or no powerups more of a chance. What if while Rad and Eighteen were on cool down two people with x20s came in and killed them? I see what you did there. :-) Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Reijin - 06-10-2008 I mean, I guess we can all just sit around and not move then, because there is no strategical value at all to moving anyone after this point if that ends up being the case. You will gain absolutely nothing more than wounds even if you go in as "I refuse to power up even if someone jumps me" Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Orion - 06-10-2008 Hellfighter 17 Wrote:I say leave cooldown in. the whole point of cooldown, as I see it, and Burter can correct me on this, is to make people more strategic with it and not always bust it out, and give those with lesser powerups or no powerups more of a chance. +1 Reijin Wrote:I mean, I guess we can all just sit around and not move then, because there is no strategical value at all to moving anyone after this point if that ends up being the case. You will gain absolutely nothing more than wounds even if you go in as "I refuse to power up even if someone jumps me" Nah, Rad'll get bored and kill you all again. Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Burter - 06-10-2008 I'm inclined to agree with Rad and Reijin, for the reason there is no set time for the cooldown and they can't really control if they use their power-ups, because emergencies do come up and cooldown leaves you weaker then you began Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Reijin - 06-10-2008 I also want to mention that I'm not arguing to be negative so much as its just people expressing their opinion before a decision is made. If the decision goes against it, I'm totally cool with that. I'm not looking to go tweaking rules in my favor or anything, I just want to really know where it stands before I start making moves in the wrong direction blindly. I 100% agree, but there's absolutely no strategy to Burter picking an absolutely random time to say "the finale starts.... now!" Like he said, it's whenever he feels there's a stalemate. Absolutely no strategy involved. Day Three Early Morning Discussion - Burter - 06-10-2008 I'm going to go ahead and say cooldown will end when the finale begins. As always, I will give a whole day of roleplaying before the finale Regardless, I'm not seeing a statemate right now. Lots of people haven't finished moving and I still have danger zones I could throw out. |
