Role-play Suggestion - Minoshia - 09-25-2008 none of this matters if people don't want to RP, so some of you go write something. asses. Role-play Suggestion - Super Buu - 09-25-2008 You the man, Waff. Minoshia Wrote:Then i was also thinking, like penalties to people who go inactive. We'll keep using Rad as an example because it's easy... he was legendary in my previous example because you'd assume a good majority of the public would recognize him. But since he's been inactive lately maybe take a step back or something. Or have a whole different rank system for people who go inacting like missing, and forgotten or something. I think we should move away from the mindset of "Penalty for not doing X" and move towards "Bonus for doing Y", where X and Y are opposites (for example, X could mean being inactive, Y could mean being active. But you can use this analogy for just about anything). If people have to treat roleplaying like it's a job, they'll want to do it even less. Role-play Suggestion - Belle Hibiki - 09-25-2008 Super Buu Wrote:You the man, Waff. There's effectively no penalty for not playing and tons of reasons to do so now and people still aren't RPing, so I don't see how that has anything to do with it. Role-play Suggestion - Super Buu - 09-25-2008 I don't think there's anything wrong with the current system in that respect, and I don't think it's 'part of the problem'. I just meant I disagreed with Minoshia's suggestion to change it and add more penalties for not RPing. Role-play Suggestion - Minoshia - 09-25-2008 Yea but my penalty was simply a change in an irrelevant ranking system based on nothing in particular. Role-play Suggestion - Dehan - 09-25-2008 And please for the love of god can we give this gloomy board a makeover? It's DBZ not...I don't know. Part of the reason I like chubbs is because it doesn't hold all the flashy dbz images other rpgs toss up. I don't want that, just something that says 'Hey...this is a dbz rpg.'. The little sprite banner is old. I like it but it's old ![]() And is there any word of if the training system Belle recommended will be put into place or something better than the current one? Role-play Suggestion - Bojack - 09-25-2008 Yeah, have we just kind of given up on all that for now? It's understandable if nobody is really capable right now of doing that stuff, which was the problem for so long if I remember correctly. Role-play Suggestion - Kirano - 09-25-2008 Dehan Wrote:And is there any word of if the training system Belle recommended will be put into place or something better than the current one? I take it none of you have bothered to enter the training sub forum. Role-play Suggestion - Dehan - 09-25-2008 I haven't roleplayed yet so no ![]() Edit Read it. Thanks for pointing that out. Role-play Suggestion - Belle Hibiki - 09-26-2008 Like I was saying to Vi, doesn't giving a flat amount of SP sort of undermine the entire idea of diminishing returns? Role-play Suggestion - Dehan - 09-26-2008 They changed it I like it. If it changes again post a news bulletin or something because I overlooked it.
Role-play Suggestion - Minoshia - 09-26-2008 Ya we all get a flat 21 SP, including Rad so there is no diminishing returns anymore. Role-play Suggestion - Kirano - 09-26-2008 You guys are forgetting that Rad is a Rank S. He gets less to spend. What are you guys opinion on it? Do you think as a Rank S, he should get less SP? Furthermore do you think each Rank should get a distinctive amount of SP? Role-play Suggestion - Belle Hibiki - 09-26-2008 Kirano Wrote:You guys are forgetting that Rad is a Rank S. He gets less to spend. What are you guys opinion on it? Do you think as a Rank S, he should get less SP? Furthermore do you think each Rank should get a distinctive amount of SP? How exactly does he get less to spend? Maybe you should go read the thing you wrote. Nowhere in there does it say that people that are stronger get less SP. Role-play Suggestion - Kirano - 09-26-2008 lol. I mistook SP for TP. My bad on the mix up, Belle. Role-play Suggestion - Minoshia - 09-26-2008 Maybe you should read more carefully in the future. Role-play Suggestion - Kirano - 09-26-2008 I suggest you get back to the topic of this thread. Role-play Suggestion - Minoshia - 09-26-2008 I would but everytime i see one of your posts all you do is shit on someone's idea, which kinda defeats the purpose of even suggesting anything. Role-play Suggestion - Kirano - 09-26-2008 I've never ever shot down someone's idea. My opinions may differ but that's normal. If you have anything else to say concerning myself, PM me. This isn't the place. Role-play Suggestion - Violet - 09-26-2008 Kirano Wrote:I suggest you get back to the topic of this thread. ![]() Is it because I'm inebriated, or does anyone else see this? I keed. My stance on this I think stats aren't really anything but a measuring contest anymore, and that really isn't it's purpose. It's not about "Oh, I'm a better writer than you because I have a really high PL", that don't mean jack squat. Experience and points should be rewarded based on actual activity, a per post and get points thing. I'm not really keen on just throwing up a quickly written subparity and posting to get a flat rate once a week, while the guy who spent days contemplating a storyline, working hours per post with quality to match, a few times a week, gets the same amount. If you want better stats, work for it. I know a lot of us don't have tons of time, but if you can patrol the OOC boards several hours a day, why not bust open word or something and plot down ideas, or form your story? I think that would be a good way to encourage some activity, and get some more of that fire we had before. *nostalgia* What I posted is perhaps not on par to what everyone else is talking about, but I felt that I should get that out. ^_^ |
