A way of keeping users from leaving the website to use bit.ly, I assume. The Like/Hate Thread - Rafael - 06-19-2011 oooooooooh. The Like/Hate Thread - Ashe - 06-20-2011 Hate: My grandfather that I'm very close to has been in the emergency room the last few days. He's already been on a respirator while sleeping due to just stopping breathing one night and having a seizure, and now, about 5-6 months later (I might be off on this timing since I've had a really rough time judging time spans lately) he has another. They ran tests, they can't tell us what has caused them. EDIT: Also, for people that ever have the urge to do things like "pray for you" or whatever, go for it. It doesn't bother me because regardless of my stance on things, the well wishing is still appreciated and understood. The Like/Hate Thread - Vad - 06-20-2011 Ashe Wrote:Hate: My grandfather that I'm very close to has been in the emergency room the last few days. They ran tests, they can't tell us what has caused them. I hope he gets better. I remember visiting my late grandfather in 08 after he had had a stroke. Tough stuff. ;.; The Like/Hate Thread - Ashe - 06-20-2011 Yeah, he and my grandmother are (I would guess) in their mid to late 60s. They had my mom young and my mom had me at 19, so they've teased me about wanting their great grandbabies for a while now (as I'm 27 and have no impending doo- children on the way). Thankfully, my younger sister is pregnant right now but I've been raging a bit because she is still heavily smoking while pregnant, pulling that "I switched to lights so its ok" bullshit on me. Anyway, its frustrating because they are fairly young, all things considered, and both are very young in personality (in that "not frail and decrepit" sorta way). That said, in the last couple of years, their health has just suddenly and greatly deteriorated. This is also happening with another grandmother of mine, but with her, she was doing great until her husband died and she tried to commit suicide. After being stopped, she has straight up just withered away from being strongly independent to, in the spans of a single year (from the time of this happening, not recently), being the epitome of "little old lady" sitting in her chair and not moving much. With her, I can see why her body just suddenly started withering away, given that she has lost all desire to live. With the two grandparents in question, however, this is absolutely not the case. Its one hundred percent just a case of two individuals that are very much wanting to continue living and doing everything they can for their loved ones having to deal with their own bodies just turning on them, breaking down and making them go through the ordeal of knowing what will be coming soon and making them worry every single night when they sleep that they (or their other) will suddenly, without warning, stop breathing in the night and just die. Its never easy, its always frustrating, and when it comes to these two, I'm absolutely not ready. That said, no one ever is, and "being ready" is not a right that we mortals have. It is a defining characteristic of "being mortal". The Like/Hate Thread - Belle Hibiki - 06-20-2011 The play I was going to tonight had to be moved out of the theater because of a structural problem. Actors had to go without their normal costumes. Twenty-something Rachel Berry lookalike thought it would be a good idea to stay in her not-even-thigh-length skirt when her part included a couple falls. Like: (un?)intentional panty shots The Like/Hate Thread - Psyren - 06-21-2011 Women be crazy...for reals holmez....So this chik on xbox live that I play mw2 with sometimes goes off on me tonight. So like i live in alabama..and shes from tennesseelol Girl flips out tonight and tells me that basically she has developed feelings for me and crap and then all of a sudden deicides we dont need to be friends anymore cuz it could never happen and never work. Im like....We just play mw2 together....wtf is going on? She gives me a hour long explanantion of her "feelings".. Im like...Umm...So we cant be a male and female who are friends who play videogames? "No..Becaus ei liek you alot and want to be with you..." "But...your saying that, because of that we cant be friends anymore and your gonna never talk to me again?" "Basically" "....You are crazy on a whole new level sweetie." Moral of the story.. Women be crazy holmez... The Like/Hate Thread - Jonathan Meer - 06-21-2011 lolwut I usually hear that same story with the genders reversed. If someone develops feelings for you through internet gaming, they need more rl. A lot more. |
