Make sure you download them one at a time to make sure each program works on your device - the keyboard was listed as compatible for my tablet on the marketplace, but it turns out it was the phone version. GOOD THING I GOT THAT DIME REFUNDED.
The sketch program is awesome as shit. Minecraft is basically a blockbuilding sim, no crafting for it yet, but a nice timekiller with no fear of Weemus putting ghost doors everywhere.
Can't wait for tomorrow's deals! Huzzah!

Like: Phone interview was great success (interviewer: "THAT is an excellent question.", with the sort of informal enthusiasm that indicates sincerity), on-location interview next week.
The position? Application developer for a ship simulator, housed in a mock-up of a ship bridge, for training (mostly military) personnel in the proper functioning of a ship. Designing a video game for the US army.

I'm completing my coursework for a B.S. in Computer Science this month (due to miscommunication with my uni, not graduating until May). I only took one class in the stuff that they want, but I've been doing a lot of study-on-my-own-time for the last year or so, which covered the languages they're looking for.
He asked me some questions about IT, and I answered them. Felt pretty easy. I suspect there'll be more of a language-centric test next week; gonna study my ass off in the meantime.
I didn't show them anything I've done, as I haven't actually made a non-school program. Nothing of any substance, at least.
And you should totally take some IT courses. In this economy, you'll need at the very least certification to get any sort of a job (though there are plenty of stories of self-taught people who do very well; my mom hasn't had any college coursework and is a state-employed programmer), but it's very much worth it. The average entry-level position here in the states for 'applications development' is about $65000 a year, and it scales up rather rapidly.
Too, IT is a full-frontal meritonomy (new word). If you're good at what you do, you're going to make a LOT of money for it, and there are always ways to get better at what you do.
EDIT: This degree has cost me about $10000, since I went through the state uni. Two months of employment will pay it all back.
