Jarka Wrote:Thanks, but I was being dramatic. It was more like, "I know how to use the super basic diagnostic version of our fastest tool that tells me the type of malware but not the location, but I can't remember how to use the diag and repair version of it that removes most infections and tells you where the location of the infection is for the ones it cannot remove so you can do it manually."

As a result, FULL SCAN OF SYSTEM COMMENCE. Should be done by tonight, and my system will be squeaky clean. It's a frustrating amount of overkill, but whether you're using an anvil or a magnifying glass, the ant is still dead in the end.

BOOT SCAN.

'Like' how my sister is desperately trying to sabotage my weekend trip to the beach. I hate being this mean but she's had a month to get a babysitter...at 1 pm tomorrow I'm out of here.

Like: Google Chrome removing the plus-symbol on their new tab button. Such a tiny change, and so aesthetically pleasing.

Hate:
nerdrage first-world-problems inside
Having to replace my iPod Touch. Literally two months out of warranty, it fucking breaks for no discernible reason at all. Just refuses to be recognized by anyone's computer. Can be charged, but never synced again, which is kind of a problem. So I have to replace it, but at least they give me 25% off the floor price! /sarcasm . I was really good with the damn thing, too - I don't think I ever dropped it onto a hard surface, maybe once or twice on the carpet, and the connectors were pretty much spotless.

Frustrating as fuck after my old click-wheel iPod, which was working amazing four years after purchase and only had to be replaced because the charger broke and, of course, they didn't make it anymore, and no one was selling them.

So the thing that probably should have had tons of problems was totally fine, and the thing that should've been totally fine ended up breaking for no clear reason.
Also hate: This fucking shit about Foxconn. Not the company, but the reaction to it in some media is nauseating. The sudden surge in liberal posturing makes me want to punch these people in the face. Apparently they can't be bothered to care about this shit until it's their Apple fashion accessory that's linked to China's brutal labor market. Where the fuck has this anger been otherwise? After all, Foxconn is not exactly fucking unique in taking steps to stop suicides in their manufacturing campuses. This happens A LOT in China, because manufacturing jobs are MISERABLE there, and it's been going on for YEARS. This is how we've been getting our cheap electronics and bargain price cashmere sweaters, assholes!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the companies or anything. It just drives me up the fucking wall that THIS is what it takes to get people to even pretend like they care.

Like: The Death and Return of Superman video, despite some wrongness in the summation of the story. The section on Hal Jordan is just so perfect.

Nah, I think I picked it up from an ad on a website. Besides, pronz is only allowed on the backup laptop.

Hate: The Thing (2011)

I would have been outraged if I was American and watched this movie, because it plays on Americans being nationalistic, generalising dumb morons who can't hear the difference between two very distinct accents, appeals to teens and throws away any attempt at subtlety and just goes flat out action movie while basically copy pasting JC's The Thing (1982) chain of events, except as mentioned without any subtlety.

Also they made a Dane a Norwegian without asking him to change his accent.

Holy fucking hell the guy who decided no one would notice that.

YEAH I GUESS NO ONE WOULD NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SILENT G AND A K-SOUND.
