Man, I hope so. I was thinking the exact same thing. Trunks (or Kakarot, as he was back then) is one of the few people who I've actually had an incredible amount of fun fighting against. Who knows, though. If he ends up deciding to partake in DA:C, I wouldn't say it's a definite fight to come.
It is possible, though. Definite IC reasons exist.
