All Quiet is a great story and they have two films to my knowledge, an old black and white one and one that was probably made in the 80's or something. I've seen both and liked them, may be biased though because I loved the book.

Fucking like Mass Effect 3.

Like that my sister has brought a 250 gig 360 and kinect. Going to get Mass Effect 1 and 2 and play those before I finish the third.

Hate: women.

Dislike: All the hours this weekeeendddd ughhhhh
16 on Friday
14 on Saturday
10 on Sunday

All because Apple is releasing the iPad 2. I mean, when I think of droves of violent psychopaths willing to do anything, I think of Apple acolytes *sarcasm*.

They will camp, maybe, but nothing more than be a large crowd. So much standing. I'm tired of being there already.

PS: I WAS INVITED TO BREATHE FIRE IN A PARADE FOR ST PATTY'S DAY, BUT NO, NO I GET TO DO THIS. BULLSHIITTTTT

Hate: I find a woman I like and I'm about to talk to her, but something snaps and I get absolutely fucking infuriated so I toss my hands in the air and quit.

The kicker is I have absolutely no idea why this happens to me. I can only guess.

The Like/Hate Thread - Pinky - 03-18-2012

hm. an elder scrolls mmo is rumored to be in the works. details are supposed to be released at e3

Like: Caught up to all the new superhero movies - all but Green Lantern was very enjoyable, Lantern less so. Sort of bummed about that, because both a Marvel streamlined continuity and a DC Comics one would probably blow my mind.

It was amazing watching them back to back because the continuity in them actually holds up really well, although the technological gaps compared to our own timeline is sort of weird because the Stark family tree basically guaranteed that every single technology got years ahead compared to "our" time line because a Stark dabbled in it.

I enjoyed John Carter, as well.

Hate: At the end of the day, AFTER I've clocked out, I see a customer approach the terminal I'm standing by. Even though I'm technically done, I always make sure customers are taken care of so they can have a great experience at my store. Smiling, I turn to him.

"Oh, sorry, sir, I've just clocked out and I'm overtime. Let me find-"
"No, I don't want your help. Find a man. Only a man."

You know, I have put up with the daily "Are you really a Geek?" / "I didn't know they had GIRL Geeks!" variations and don't say a fucking word. I've put up with people asking me to find a second opinion as they look at one of my male coworkers even when I can say with absolute certainty that their motherboard has failed or that they have a rogue antivirus or that they fucking cracked their screen like an idiot.

I know that everybody thinks I take feminism too seriously. It's because I have to deal with this shit every single day and I can't just give every close-minded customer a lecture about gender equality and the history of women in computers or I would lose my fucking job. I need to fight back in some way. Shit like this happens all the time to all sorts of women in all sorts of situations and people just don't notice (or care).

Yeah. It's not so bad when you can sit down and explain to a person why they're a numbfuck, but when you're being the target of discrimination in retail, it's infuriating.

Working the Sunday shift at a produce stand as an atheist isn't any easier.

People still don't believe in gamer girls? They are nubs I say, it's nothing new.

"IN A DISTANT LAND OF FANTASY" - YAY
"FILLED WITH GANG RAPE" - D:
"FILLED WITH LOVE" - YAY
"OF GANG RAPE" - D:

"Nescessary evil", my ass.

I've managed to go most of my life without reading about gang rape. Other than the Bible, obv

If it makes you feel any better, I used to work for a construction supply store. One of my best coworkers was this girl Alison, who absolutely knew her stuff. When I was new, people would go right past her to ask me something I didn't know, only for me to point them back at her. Tongue

I'm a bit surprised it's something you have to deal with in the technology field; I thought that sort of attitude was only alive in the trades, so to speak.

On the plus side, people like that are a dying breed.
