I was actually insulted at how awful the second one was.

Somewhere between watching the Clone Wars cartoon and playing SWTOR, I just ... 'got over' Star Wars. It feels like with this level of spinnoffage, we should see some development, some progression in the universe, but it's still exactly the same. Even with TOR, which is thousands of years before the movies, it still feels exactly the same. It's only a tiny detail really, but it hit home when someone pointed out the bounty hunter's carbonite freeze, which is an obvious 'homage' to the original movies. It feels like pandering though, and even at the expense of consistency (wasn't freezing people in carbonite something that hadn't been tested when they did it to Solo?)

Same reason I don't read comics. It's incredibly patronising to get fed the same shit over and over because whoever makes these calls would rather not take risks, and because of the vocal people who flip their shit when volume 2 isn't just more of volume 1.

Hate when I'm right about certain things.

Love that I am able to spot a fake ass fucker with ulterior motives.

Hate that I even let it get to me but alas...I know better now.

The Like/Hate Thread - Undrask - 09-05-2012

I like some of the EU shit, while a lot of it is retarded. I think I'm kind of over MOST of star wars, but there are still parts that I greatly enjoy. The Inquisitor's story arc in TOR was different enough that I was still having fun by the end, but still just a lot of pandering and fan service.

I prefer The Old Republic era to anything else in the Star Wars universe so I tunnel vision my interest there.

Yeah Frisco. I'm not saying I totes hate Star Wars now. I'm just very =| about it. I still love the lightsaber duels and flashy ship battles simply for what they are.

Whenver someone mentions 'fanservice' I think of anime chicks with ridiculous chests wearing very little clothing in compromising positions.

and I frown and have a sudden urge to turn my TV off.

Fanservice of any form is annoying as shit though, which is probably one reason why I didn't jump right back into TOR after last semester finished.

I'm all about women with ridiculous chests wearing very little clothing in compromising positions.

Not much interested if they're cartoons though

Like: America.

Hate: I am absolutely shit at guessing girls' ages. That could have turned out so bad. Also getting sick after only staying here for a week is pretty bs.

The Like/Hate Thread - Dehan - 09-06-2012

Hate being so tired that I can't sleep and know if I pick up my controller and attempt to play any video game I'll just suck ass at it and get irritated.

Like: Ace Attorney 5 announced.

Hate: Capcom's lack of an English translation for Investigations 2, despite being over a year since the Japanese release.

Hate: Capcom

This sounds like a fun story...

Was she 13?

Storytime: So for people who don't know, I'm about 6'3" (ish) and so I'm usually considered tall when entering the standard household. I arrive over here and, never having seen any of the people over here before, need to get introduced to everyone. So my uncle's family arranges a family meeting day, where I'm to meet the (non-blood related, but technically related) family of my uncle's wife's sisters. First I meet the youngest sister who just go her first child, cute as a button quiet 4 year old girl. Quiet kids = instant points.

Then comes the eldest sister who has three kids. In comes one on the age of my uncle's son, my cousin, a girl on 7 and then in comes her big brother and big sister. Noisy and rowdy tomboyish little girl and I would estimate the big brother to be around 5'2". I get introduced to them all and then I get told he's 15 before the conversation is cut off and we move before I get to her sister, who's either my height or just slightly taller. I'm immediately intrigued and my brain sure as hell suddenly remembers we're not related by blood.

Time passes, when I later hear more about her daily life and start to think I seriously fucked up my American essays on American school and education. She says she's still in high school and moving up a grade in it, instead of going out of it. My face is just a puzzled look at this point. Then her mom talks about telling her about me and she apparently "immediately got that 'oooh is he hot' look on her face" and started to beautify herself in record time, so I'm shooting jokes like 'sorry to disappoint you', everybody's laughing and I'm just forgetting about it.

Then after dinner, we sit down again and keep talking and my cousin (uncle's son, whatever) start playing with their youngest sister, when the oldest girl turns to their brother and goes 'they're just like us, one year apart and playing together'. My brain instantly flashes an image of pedobear as I casually turn around to my uncle 'Uhm... How old is she again?'

[spoiler]14.

No go.

Wait...So not only was she a bit young, but she was also kind of almost sort of not really your cousin?

Apparently they want us to be cousins so that's what we're going with. We're not really anything.

Me -> Uncle -> Uncle's Wife -> Uncle's Wife Sister -> Uncle's Wife Sister's Daughter.

Don't really think there's any name for that. We have something called 'branch cousins' in Denmark, but even then it's only with people who we share blood with. My uncle's wife's side of the family isn't even from the same continent.
