The Like/Hate Thread - Sigfried Hunin - 02-23-2013 Yeah, I remember this one time when I moved from beautiful CO where all my friends lived and I grew up to PA. It turns out that PA blows, but I met Piper and some other bamfy people. Still moving back to CO. RITE The Like/Hate Thread - Super Buu - 02-25-2013 Vad Wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkNrSpqUr-E Watched this while semi-drunk and didn't even know how to The Like/Hate Thread - Blue - 02-25-2013 More people should live near southern NC. It's so lonely here... The Like/Hate Thread - Sigfried Hunin - 02-25-2013 You should have all the banjos to keep you company. The Like/Hate Thread - Blue - 02-25-2013 Banjos are poor succor for a man bereft of platonic male companionship. They are excellent for setting the mood when you want someone to squeal like a pig though. The Like/Hate Thread - Jonathan Meer - 02-25-2013 meetup.com The Like/Hate Thread - Sigfried Hunin - 02-25-2013 Craigslist "m4m" The Like/Hate Thread - Blue - 02-25-2013 m4h The Like/Hate Thread - Victoria - 02-25-2013 I hate editing my novel and always second guessing myself at every sentence. The Like/Hate Thread - Sigfried Hunin - 02-25-2013 I think it's more important to just get out the broad ideas, and then go back and edit in chunks. In my personal opinion I wouldn't bother with sentences until you've got the bulk of your stuff done. Again, just IMO. The Like/Hate Thread - Victoria - 02-25-2013 The bulk is done. I'm editing the grammar. Everything I wrote in Stolen Goods is 50k words, which is basically the begging of the book. Now I have to make it...better. The Like/Hate Thread - Piper Juunanagou - 02-25-2013 Don't think this is related to your original grievance, but my trick with editing is to always transfer it to a different medium. I put my writing on my kindle, and then make notes as I read for where I should go back and edit. I find editing to be a much more organic process when it feels like you're reading and critiquing an actual book, rather than a pdf or word document on a computer screen. #twocents? The Like/Hate Thread - Victoria - 02-25-2013 I thought of doing that. How would I go about putting it on kindle? The Like/Hate Thread - Sigfried Hunin - 02-25-2013 I think kindles can do PDF, correct? It would just be a matter of saving it under the correct file format. The Like/Hate Thread - Piper Juunanagou - 02-25-2013 When you purchased your kindle, they should have provided you with an email address (something something@kindle.com). I think it's just the email of your Amazon account with @kindle.come at the end. You may have to go through Amazon.com's Kindle service to change the settings so your kindle will accept emails from you. Then you just attach the word doc to an email titled 'Convert' and email it to your kindle's address. It should arrive there in a few minutes and be accessible to you to read and so forth. The Like/Hate Thread - Victoria - 02-25-2013 Ooh, hm. I got the Kindle for Android app. Maybe I can still do it, I'll find a way =D. Thanks for the tips. The Like/Hate Thread - Jonathan Meer - 02-26-2013 Alternately, I use Calibre as my ebook organizer, and it has a robust file conversion suite. The Like/Hate Thread - Kaden - 02-26-2013 Hate: the "Pre-purchase Rewards" thing on Steam. They really need to pander like this? It just looks horrendously greedy to me. The Like/Hate Thread - Vad - 02-26-2013 This pre-purchase stuff has really taken off. Soon we'll be pre-purchasing produce before it's even grown =o |
