I like getting two B-'s, one B and a C-. Why am I happy about the C-? Because I thought it would be worse, I missed two days straight in that class due to allergies, spent a night writing a research paper that I should have did like two weeks prior and that's about it.

Oh yea I hate having to wait until friday until I can get my fucking money and go back to Greensboro. I swear I could have spent my first week out of school doing something destructive. Missed my roommates b-day party and every fucking thing.

The Like/Hate Thread - Jonathan Meer - 12-18-2008

I never bought the textbook for my Psych class, skipped half (literally) the classes, and got a B.

I hate you Krillin.

The Like/Hate Thread - Jonathan Meer - 12-18-2008

Also, I am at risk of being suspended (the full semester kind) because I fell one short of the chapel attendance requirement for this past semester (which is my fourth deficient semester), due to my alarm clock not waking me up.

So, yeah.

EDIT: Actually, I kinda think this is worth its own topic

I hate how emotional I get. My fingers are trembling and I feel so weary.

Watched the day the earth stood still, 1951 edition, for a compare/contrast against the recent manifestation. It was littered with contrivances, of course, but at least the plot was coherent so I liked it quite a bit more than the new one.

You hate everything that doesn't have penis in (or on) it.

The Like/Hate Thread - Pinky - 12-18-2008

Then why do I hate you?

The Like/Hate Thread - Jack - 12-18-2008

Well played.

Saw it coming from a mile away, but that just made it funnier.

The Like/Hate Thread - Ashe - 12-19-2008

I just made a Facebook. Not sure if this is a like or a hate yet.

Facebook is delightful. If you still attend college, you'll hear a lot of sophomores and juniors and seniors lament the breakdown of interpersonal communication due to the site, but don't pay them any mind. What are young academics, if they aren't flurried about something?

It's a great resource for keeping tabs on friends that you don't see very often, and providing a means for people to, at the very least, get glimpses into what's going on in your life.

The Like/Hate Thread - Super Buu - 12-19-2008

A large part of me hates Facebook, not so much because of the site itself but because it breeds obsessive-compulsive facebookers who can't shut the everliving fuck up about it. SARAH UPDATED HER FACEBOOK SHE SUCKED ON HER EXAMS LALALA OH MY GOD BRB EVERY 5 MINUTES BECAUSE I'VE GOTTA CHECK AND MAKE SURE NOTHING HAS HAPPENED

God, my housemates are dumb. =(

I've seen this happen a lot as well.

The same could be said of many things. I'm sure many people feel the same way about WoW or similar games for that very reason.

The Like/Hate Thread - Kaden - 12-19-2008

Of course obsessions happen, but there's usually something to obsess about. Obsessing over Facebook is just kind of creepy to me. It's like stalking-lite.

It's gossip. Online gossip. How can you go wrong?

cons: a left-wing agenda that was so thick you could spread it on a piece of toast. aliens arrive unannounced, violate the US defense network, and their landing assaults unarmed and unsuspecting civilians, and then the alien has the balls to demand a gathering of all world leaders without explanation or preamble... and for some reason the narrative of the plot always cast the government and military officials as hopelessly incompetent boobs who are so needlessly aggressive that they can only squander humanity's final hope.

pros: unintentional hilarity. when the secretary of state said that the alien would probably be interrogated for information and one of the scientist characters replied with "as scientists, we can't consent to this" i just lost it. i would expect that kind of line coming from someone with a pole for a tail, and off the end of the pole a flag hangs depicting a screw and a ball. and then there's the fact that the alien is an environmentalist come to save planet earth from humanity. that was probably my favorite part. ;E

Concurs!

There is no way that the government would so aggressively try to control an invader who is so obviously out of our league. Not only that but a species that advanced could help us advance our technology to protect the planet so he wouldn't need to destroy us, and could easily be able to terraform planets.

It's just a peace loving hippie movie, goddamn greenpeace and peta.

Cock sucking credit control! I swear I'll fight this battle to court if necessary. Great fucking Christmas this is!
