To the Shelter! - Kaden - 01-24-2009 It's definitely not a waste, that's for sure. Hacking generally provides more of the lore than anything else, but there's still a lot to be had from it. To the Shelter! - Super Buu - 01-24-2009 Hacking was hella useful to me. Hacked computers often let you open nearby safes too, bypassing the need to lockpick, which is nice if your lockpicking isn't that high. To the Shelter! - Kaden - 01-24-2009 You can also Lockpick the safe, and then hack the comp to double up on XP. To the Shelter! - Super Buu - 01-24-2009 yeah boy that's the shit I'm talkin about To the Shelter! - Orion - 01-26-2009 Is it just me, or is ammo, caps and health rather hard to come by in comparison to other games? Especially ammo. To the Shelter! - Kaden - 01-26-2009 They can be, I guess. The Scrounger perk actually helps quite a bit, but I found map-traveling and bartering to be plenty effective for getting the ammo I needed. EDIT: Also depends on what part of the game you're at. Having invested heavily in Energy Weapons right off the bat, I was pretty strapped for ammo for the first half of the game. That turned around pretty quickly, though. To the Shelter! - Saz - 01-26-2009 I was finding ammo differcult to come by early on, too. But like Kaden mentioned, I used the Scourger perk, and now I've got so much I'm selling some off for extra caps. To the Shelter! - Sage - 01-26-2009 Supposed to be. Ammo's supposed to be an issue, since obviously, it's not like bullets are being mass-produced anymore (Well, actually the Enclave probably has a production facility but they don't share). But once you get some money together you won't know what to do with all your bullets. And mini nukes. I have like 55. To the Shelter! - Alura - 01-28-2009 Arn't they super-heavy? To the Shelter! - Sage - 01-28-2009 No. Well, yes. It's unlikely a human being could lift one. But in this game ammunition is weightless. So I have a crapload of them. To the Shelter! - Waffuru - 01-28-2009 Anyone tried Operation Anchorage yet? To the Shelter! - Sage - 01-28-2009 Wasn't even aware it was out. Alas, I don't have XBL so... *shrug* To the Shelter! - Waffuru - 01-28-2009 I'm getting it on PC. Though it doesn't sound like it's all that much of an addon, not like Broken Steel is supposed to be. Guess you get what you get. To the Shelter! - Saz - 02-12-2009 So, that power armour training was a bit of a disappointment. I was expecting to actually get some training of some kind, or something. They build it up everytime you meet a member of the Brotherhood of steel, and then when you finally meet the guy who can teach you "Alright, I don't like it, but I'll teach you how to use Power Armour..... See what you have to do is relax your muscles" *Fades out* You now have the power armour perk! =/ To the Shelter! - Belle Hibiki - 02-12-2009 Maybe because making you sit through a lengthly explanation of shit you never have to actually care about would have been boring as fuck all? To the Shelter! - Rem-13 - 02-13-2009 I need to get the pittsburgh one, seeing as it is where I live. To the Shelter! - Saz - 02-15-2009 So, how useful is dogmeat in the later stages of the game? Yesterday I was walking around randomly, and walked into some Enclave soldiers, with dogmeat and Star Cross something or other, with me. Anyway Dogmeat rushes right in there, some monster thing comes around the corner, takes one swipe at him and he's dead. I just paused and reloaded the game, but I've since told him to wait for me at vault 101. If I keep him around is he just gonna get himself killed? To the Shelter! - Sage - 02-15-2009 Dogmeat's pretty much useless all around. The only benefit is his ability to 'fetch' ammo/weapons, but srsly. Whoop-de-doo. If you're not looking for the Firelance that ability's basically worthless anyway. To the Shelter! - Saz - 02-15-2009 What about other AI allies? Are they worth having around. To the Shelter! - Kaden - 02-15-2009 I hated having helpers. They either got in my way or ran around pissing people off like idiots. |
