Assassin's Creed - Android 14 - 02-12-2008

I finished AC last night (Around 3am) wanting to see the big ending and what I had unlocked with all my repetative jab and run kills. . . .and what do I come to find? Biggest Let Down since Halo2 ending!!! This one was worse, but not by much.

It was a massive let down to an otherwise really well flowing game (all be it repetative) and story. I feel so cheated and I never even got the damned crossbow like in the trailer. . . . weak.

AC really is a fun play though and a really good game, just save yourself the last boss fight unless you like hurting yourself :p

Assassin's Creed - Kaden - 02-12-2008

Why did you think the ending was a big let-down?

I thought it was a pretty good ending. You just had to go into it knowing that there are two other games in the series coming.

Being able to see all the different puzzles and clues scattered around the rooms after you got Eagle Vision was a pretty sweet way of setting things up.

Assassin's Creed - Saz - 02-12-2008

I completed the game about two weeks ago and I can't really remember what happened in the end. XD

I recall being able to see scriptures on the wall and stuff, didn't understand that at all. Something about the templars coming to get you. I don't know. The game really didn't leave that big a impression on me.

Assassin's Creed - Sullivan - 02-12-2008

Yeah, I thought being able to see all the blood scriptures was a pretty neat effect. I'm looking forward to the next entry in the series.

Assassin's Creed - Saz - 02-12-2008

What were the "blood scriptures" supposed to, er, be. Did they mean anything, or were they just a neat effect...

Assassin's Creed - Kaden - 02-12-2008

Everything that you could see after the credits was actually something.

That explains everything. Massive spoilers.

Assassin's Creed - Saz - 02-12-2008

Wow. All that must have just gone over my head when I was playing.

Assassin's Creed - Kaden - 02-12-2008

Pfft, you'd have to be seriously into global religious/paranormal history to actually catch all of that.

Not a demographic I would put most gamers in.

I do, however, think its cool that they put so much thought into it.

Assassin's Creed - Aero - 02-22-2008

To be blunt, I thought Assassin's Creed sucked. I felt like I could've gotten an equal experience playing one of the Spiderman games. I mean, the ability to essentially climb up anything is nice, but it alone can't really drive a game.

Assassin's Creed - Kaden - 02-24-2008

Why did you think sucked?

Assassin's Creed - Szar - 02-24-2008

I agree with Gokua. The fact that I could climb the walls didn't make up for the linear gameplay and pathetically easy combat. Once you learned counter attack, you never had to do anything else. And, if you were surrounded by a large group of enemies, they'd only attack one at a time.

That, and the story didn't interest me in the least. I'd prefer them to have let you choose to be put into a coma at the beginning, and save me the trouble.

Assassin's Creed - Saz - 02-24-2008

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Gokua and Nappa. The game was disappointing.

Assassin's Creed - Josh - 02-24-2008

And that's why you aren't staff, cuz you guys are stupid and wouldn't no a good game of it kicked you in the nuts.

D:

Assassin's Creed - Pinky - 02-25-2008

Well, I "no" that the game is so boring that the only way I can play it for more than five minutes is if I'm also watching a movie/playing another game/surfing the Internetz. I shouldn't have to entertain myself while playing a video game.

Assassin's Creed - Kaden - 02-26-2008

Huh... crazy. I found game neither boring nor particularly repetitive.

Its unfortunate I'm in the minority.

Assassin's Creed - Sol - 03-02-2008

I've got AC and really was enjoying it, I had about 75% of the game finished when my X-Box died in December. Being that I had to get it repaired which took close to 2 months I lost interest in the game during my downtime. I do plan on finishing it one day though.

Assassin's Creed - Stryker - 03-02-2008

so is it a buy or rent only kind of game? i've been stuck on whether i should get it or not.

Assassin's Creed - Saz - 03-02-2008

If you have to play it, I'd say rent it. I think it actually took me quite along time to complete, more than 20 hours, so it might be tough to complete in one or two days. I've no intention of playing it through a second time, I don't think it's a great game for reply value. So I'd definately say rent it.

Assassin's Creed - Kaden - 03-02-2008

I'd agree about the relative lack of replay value. If you're going for the bare-bones story, you can skip a large chunk of the game. If you're a completionist, there's a ton of stuff to collect and find.

Worst-case scenario, for renting, is that you have to rent it twice to get through the story. And that's still cheaper than buying it.
