This is an ancient anime, I think the second to build on the mecha genre right after the original Gundam series. The story goes along the traditional Japanese line: old civilization produced artifacts beyond the scope of understanding for the current generations. Of those artifacts, the main characters pilot three different transformer-style vehicles that combine together to make the Giant God Ideon, which is proof against the weapons of their enemies and is essentially an unstoppable juggernaut.
So, who else has seen this?
